On a completely separate note, I've never understood why anyone would willingly pay a premium for an article of clothing with the Trump label on it, if the stupid thing is produced in China, of all places. It's like buying a Swiss watch for an exorbitant price even though it has "Made in Malaysia" etched on the back of it.
I’ll show you why.
Back when women wore mink stoles, if you went to buy one from Neiman-Marcus, the first thing they would ask you is which way you wanted Neiman’s label sown on -— right side up or upside down? “Why would I want the label put on upside down,” you ask?
“Well,” said the salesman, “It’s so that when the stole is draped over a chair, “Neiman-Marcus” will read upright.”
Get it now? It’s all about the brand.
Obviously you have been asleep the last however so many years. Why do people pay more for any “designer label” on an article of clothing that can be “knocked off” shortly after it has been seen by some sweatshop somewhere and sold at a small price. Why does China have millions of imports all over the world of FAKE products that are so close to the genuine article that it is hard to tell the difference? How many handbags are sold that look like the real designer piece as just one instance? Americans are LABEL CRAZY! WHY do we buy Articles which HAVE THE LABEL ON THE
OUTSIDE FOR ALL TO SEE? Simply because for some reason it is a “Status Symbol” to wear Gucci, Armani, Chanel, or any of the others. Do you wear shirts with an alligator embroidered on the left pocket?
