At least five people have been killed and several others wounded in a shooting late Wednesday in a suburb outside Pittsburgh, authorities said.
Lt Andrew Schurman of the Allegheny County homicide unit confirmed early Thursday that four females and one male were killed in the shooting at a house on Franklin Ave. The shooting occurred around 11 p.m.

The incident began just before 11 p.m. ET on Wednesday in the 1300 block of Franklin Avenue of Wilkinsburg, which is just east to the city of Pittsburgh, when gunfire erupted in a residential area. Witnesses reported hearing dozens of gunshots, which appear to have been fired at a group of people outside.
After the shooting, several people were seen running away from the scene on foot, and no suspects were immediately taken into custody. Details about the exact circumstances of the shooting were not immediately available.
Allegheny County Police confirmed that at least five people had been killed and three others were injured, but there was no immediate word on their conditions. WPXI-TV reporter Joe Holden said those killed are 4 women and 1 man.

Distraught family members gathered and caused scuffles trying to gain access to the scene.... One woman sat on the ground crying... "They just want to kill everybody," she said...
Another resident told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review shooting incident "sounded like a war".

There were at least two gunmen and they are still at-large Thursday overnight. WPXI said the gunmen ambushed a back-yard barbecue party at 1304 Franklin Ave. from two different angles.
Emergency crews blocked off the 1300 block of Franklin Avenue, a residential area east of Pittsburgh proper has seen considerable economic decline in recent decades.
Witness Kayla Alexander told WPXI that she was about 26 shots as she walked home and then saw four people running from the area.

It’s a ‘dark’ area from the looks.....won’t be the first shooting either.
Pray for the victims, may have been drugs or innocent broken families trying to survive. God is all love and doesn't want this for any people. May the shooters be brought to swift justice.

Wilkinsburg was the site of another mass shooting, a racially-motivated rampage in March 2000 by Ronald Taylor, a black man who killed three whites and wounded two at a McDonald’s and a Burger King.
He was sentenced to death in 2002.
