Jon Voight endorses Donald Trump for President, calls him ‘an answer to our problems’

This probably won't help Jon Voight's notoriously rocky relationship with his daughter.

The "Midnight Cowboy" actor gave an impassioned endorsement to loud-mouthed GOP front-runner Donald Trump, calling the bombastic billionaire "an answer to our problems."

"Donald is funny, playful, and colorful, but most of all he is honest," Voight told Breitbart News on Tuesday. "When he decided to run for president, I know he did it with a true conviction to bring this country back to prosperity. He is the only one who can do it. No frills, no fuss, only candid truths."

"He will not let us down," he added. "I pray for all good people to see clearly what faces us now. The right vote will save our nation."

That endorsement might not play particularly well with Voight's daughter Angelina Jolie, with whom the actor had been estranged for many years.

Trump has publicly criticized Jolie's physical appearance multiple times, most notably in a disparaging 2007 interview with CNN's Larry King.

"Angelina Jolie is sort of amazing because everyone thinks she's like this great beauty," he said, according to a CNN transcript. "And I'm not saying she's an unattractive woman, but she's not beauty, by any stretch of the imagination."

And though Jolie had previously expressed "disappointment" with current president Barack Obama, her husband has gone on record as a supporter of the Democrat.

Voight's endorsement came shortly after former Yankees right fielder Paul O'Neill revealed he is pulling for Trump at the outspoken Republican candidate's news conference in Jupiter, Fla.

Then on Wednesday, another former Yankees outfielder, Johnny Damon, voiced his support for Trump to the Daily News.

"I'm a Trump fan ever since I met him seven or eight years ago," he said.

Didn't he say she was not unattractive? Double negative == positive.

Seriously, exactly which females' looks did he actually insult? Is there a list somewhere that includes someone other than FioRINO?

Finally, are women equal or not? Or are they officially immune from the same criticism men are allowed?

There are many people who get this criticism, Nixon got it, Ron Paul, FrankenKerry, Kucinich, all the Bush's, fatties like Christie and Huck, pretty much everybody gets it in some manner. We give it to Hillary all the time. Helen Thomas was always shredded. So when Trump said "That face", it kind of pales in comparison don't you think?

What's going on here is that you are seeing an unscripted human being, i.e., a normal person. If you really prefer a by-the-numbers tightly-wound over-rehearsed slick politician, then there is no shortage of them to be found. The question of the day is whether Americans are so conditioned now from endless politically correct robots that they will reject a regular person. Let's hope we have not reached that point of no return.

There's only a few left with the courage of their convictions. As for me, there are some that I've just added to my list of traitors. Beginning with Jane Fonda, I boycott and do not watch, nor buy anything associated with her. There's others through the years that I've added to the list. Most recently, Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan and the other eunuchs in the political arena. Now, one of my favorite actors Robert DeNiro. Seriously? I am very disappointed in him - I always thought he was upright. Shows you what a good actor he must be - he certainly had me fooled. He's on my list now. I encourage everyone out there to NOT SUPPORT those actors and TV personalities and politicians who do not stand for America and our values. Anyone who will not salute our flag, say the pledge of allegiance and support taking God out of our language should be boycotted. Hit them where it counts - in their pocketbooks because that is their god - money. That is apparent in their actions.
