Cruz will just go through the motions and lose, making a career out of being the most conservative Republican in the race. He means well. He cannot deliver anything save cowboy boots. His core constituencies, while fervent, are narrow. Running up the vote in Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas will not deliver victory in the Electoral College. Any Democrat has a huge electoral advantage. We need to change the map. Romney tried, but he could not connect with the blue collar workers. Huckabee might have, but he never got past being a Baptist pastor.
