Perhaps I am cynical but I have sincere doubts that the people who claim to have been for Cruz but switched were ever for Cruz.
It is simply a tactic to make their case seem more real.
Yeah, I liked the guy once but after he blah, blah blah.
Find me one poster who once posted favorably for Ted Cruz and switched to the Don. Just one.
