Burns, OR - An FBI agent is suspected of lying about firing twice at Robert "LaVoy" Finicum and may have gotten help from four other FBI agents in covering up afterward, authorities revealed Tuesday.
The bullets didn't hit Finicum and didn't contribute to his death, but now all five unnamed agents, part of an elite national unit, are under criminal investigation by the U.S. Justice Department. Inspector General Michael Horowitz is leading the independent inquiry.
The remarkable disclosure came as a team of local investigators released findings that two state troopers shot Finicum three times in the back during the chaotic scene at a police roadblock Jan. 26. One bullet pierced his heart, an autopsy showed.
A prosecutor ruled the fatal shooting was legally justified, saying state law allows use of deadly force when officers believe a person is about to seriously injure or kill someone. Finicum kept moving his hands toward a pocket that contained a loaded handgun. Although he was shot from behind, Finicum had a trooper in front of him armed with a Taser who was thought to be in danger.
Finicum, 54, an Arizona rancher, was one of the leaders of the Jan. 2 takeover of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge near Burns.
Investigators gave no details to explain why the one FBI agent, a member of the Hostage Rescue Team, wouldn't report the two shots. They also didn't indicate what his four colleagues on the team did to warrant investigation other than saying it was related to conduct after the shooting.
If you wanted to, you could count how many times they told him to “get down”, but as you point out, every time he responds by saying “you’ll have to shoot me”.

What he said is evidence for his state of mind, and you should have mentioned that he reached for his waistband instead of using the sarcasm tag.
Tell me what he did that would warrant shooting him? Disobey an order from his masters? I thought we went through this a few hundred years ago at Lexington and Concord.
When he was stopped and before he drove away, they were telling him to get out of the truck and he was responding by saying they would have to shoot him. Numerous times.
After he went off the road and got out of the truck they told him to get down numerous times and he responded every time with "you'll have to shoot me".
Being shot will make you reach for that spot. Why do you think it's acceptable to shoot someone that isn't firing at you, no matter what they're saying? And Finicum didn't own a 9MM. There is no justification for shooting a man with his hands raised. None.
Why a roadblock when they'd been going into town on a regular basis? Why not let Finicum go to the Sheriff? Because the peasants were revolting.
You keep making excuses for murder by government agents. Why?
Being shot will make you reach for that spot.

Let me suggest that you go out and put yourself in a situation where the LEOs want to make an arrest and you refuse. See what happens.

The Bundy brothers told everyone, including Finicum, that they were all going to die on this hill.
But, apparently, the Bundys changed their mind and when they were stopped on the road to be arrested, the Bundys exited their vehicle and offered no resistance. The Bundys pushed Finicum over the edge and he died on that hill.
You are just like the Bundys. You have no intention of dying on a hill but you want to push others over the edge in hopes that they will die for your cause.

Joseph Rice, the Josephine County, Oregon, coordinator for the volunteer Oathkeepers.com organization and a leader with the Pacific Patriot Network, told WND many questions remain unanswered.
“How are ‘We the People’ to trust them the next time we interact with them?” he told WND.
“You’ve got agents willfully covering up the facts. That seems to claw at the integrity on the federal side of the investigation,” he said, calling for an independent review.
He explained that during the standoff he had spoken with both sides about how to resolve the disagreement and prevent a Waco or Ruby Ridge, two federal law-enforcement disasters that resulted in multiple deaths.
Rice pointed out that at least one of the individuals in the vehicle at the time of the shooting never was interviewed by investigators, who on Tuesday released details of their investigation.
He said the explanations fall short. Authorities, Rice said, claimed Finicum was shot three times in the back, yet he fell backward into the snow.
And he confirmed the family’s autopsy concluded Finicum was shot nine times.

Furthermore, the use of a Deadman’s Roadblock in and of itself was a LETHAL USE OF FORCE LIKELY IN VIOLATION OF EXISTING LAW AND/OR POLICY as described below. Therefore, this was clearly an unjustified shooting and serves to show that the massive overreach and unconstitutional and illegal actions of the Federal Government now extend to murdering innocent Americans. The Coalition condemns in the strongest possible terms what is now conclusively proven to be the murder of LaVoy Finicum. However, that is not enough. The terrorizing of rural America must end. Should Americans be shot so the Federal government can control more land? No. The answer instead is for all of us to defend freedom locally and demand control over public lands be returned to the states.”

What happened to you.
No no its not... this whole “furtive move” stuff is dirty cop fantasy stuff. Never has furtive move been legal for justification for shooting someone.
Dirty cops don’t understand that because the DA refuses to bring charges(aka covers for them) or a jury is willing to no charge a cops generally aka giving them the proper benefit of the doubt.
However when “furtive moves” are caught on tape juries tend to press charges and convict.
Also the FBI and police knew he was UNARMED at the time. Their is zero evidence of him being armed. The FBI is claiming he had a 9mm but its not seen at any time during the video and their is no current evidence it even exists.
You need to be saying that to the Bundys and the rest of the occupiers who ultimately co-operated with their own arrest and abandoned all resistance.
You try to make it out as me and Filicum but it was between Filicum and the rest of the occupiers who chose not to die.
You try to make out like you are a noble idealist who was willing to die for the same cause that Filicum died for, if you had only been there.
You weren't there and if you had been there you would have been the first to fold.
Finicum himself said he never went anywhere unarmed, and given the fact that he’d just fled a police roadblock and clearly tired to reach into his coat, the police had no alternative but to shoot.
