Billionaire Backs Trump After Shocking Surprise
Daily Caller ^ | 03/07/2016 | Steve Birr

Posted on 03/08/2016 8:58:00 AM PST by dynoman

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump can add the support of two more billionaires to his recent whirlwind of momentum, one of which was shocked when a big donation he sent was returned by a Trump political action committee (PAC).

Andrew Beal and Thomas Barrack join Carl Icahn in the billionaire class supporting Trump’s presidency. Beal, founder of Beal Bank in Dallas, once organized an attempted bankruptcy takeover of Trump Entertainment Resorts Inc. with Icahn. Beal says Trump’s outsider mystique, illustrated in a $100,000 donation returned to Beal by Trump’s PAC, makes him different than the current crowd of lifetime politicians, report The Wall Street Journal.

“There are no hard feelings,” Beal told The Wall Street Journal. “He’s smart and gets things done. I have never had a politician give me my money back.”

“He would adapt and come to logical conclusions…that’s my belief,” Barrack told The Wall Street Journal. “The rhetoric that seems harsh would dissipate.”

Trump’s billionaire supporters are exacerbated with Washington’s policies, which they argue are crippling business growth with burdensome taxes and out of control regulations. Beal says Trump would bring “radical change” to the government and will have the right priorities as a lifelong businessman. Icahn, who Trump floated as his secretary of the treasury, echos these sentiments, warning economic turmoil is ahead and Trump’s business acumen and steady hand are what the U.S. economy needs.

“There are no hard feelings,” Beal told The Wall Street Journal. “He’s smart and gets things done. I have never had a politician give me my money back.”

Most Trump supporters would be supporting Bernie if Trump wasn’t in the race.

Not a chance. Trump stands for a strong military, supporting our friends and undermining our enemies, reducing taxes, reducing immigration so that jobs are available HERE, reducing regulations, rewarding and honoring hard work, etc. Bernie stands AGAINST every single one of those policies.

Use your head - Clinton and Sanders and their ilk are enemies of whatever policies, beliefs and attitudes made this country great. Trump is in favor of most of them. Delivering broadsides from 16" guns at a guy who will deliver 70% of what you want, rather than directing it against someone who will give you NOTHING you want is not sensible in any way.

I do not think the author of this article knows what exacerbated means, I think he means exasperated. (I know I”m nitpicking, but this sort of thing bothers me.)

Don’t know much about Beal or Barrack, but Carl Icahn has a pretty sorry record with hostile takeovers and looting companies.

These guys are now worried that Trump will be in a power position and still angry with them.

I like it that Trump is tough and scares these people.

No conservative would bash hard working people who made money. Next you’ll be calling for tax increases on the rich.

If your company is worth a hostile takeover and “looting” you’ve already mismanaged it horridly...

“So we should just support Billionaires for president.”

Logical fallacy; too few alternatives.

“Logical fallacy; too few alternatives.”

Not really. Since very few can run for President without financial endorsements. Only billionaires should run.

How do you explain Cruz’s billionaire supporters? There are quite a few of them.

Yeah they would, or they’d stay home.

Yes it is. A billionaire business man can bring a business mind to the table. That is something our country has sorely needed for so long. America has gone in the toilet with status quo politicians/lawyers.

So it’s about the brainpower the businessman billionaire can bring to the table - the fact they are a billionaire proves the brainpower.

This is not rocket science.

I don’t have an issue with them either way. Just think it’s funny how it’s an issue if they support anyone other than Trump.

The federal government has been run like a business for the last half a century at least. that’s the absolute last thing we need.

That is about as far from the truth as you can get. Are you serious?? 19+ trillion in debt?? Business cannot operate the way the government does or they would cease to exist.

Government has not been run like a capitalistic business - it’s been a leech, a parasite, on those who do produce.

It was a foolish remark. Trump is my first choice but I will vote R this fall no matter who is the nominee.

Trump recently said he would fundraise for the republican party if he gets the nomination. Not for himself, for the party.
