Did you notice that Donald Trump, speaking in Florida on the night of March 5— fresh from victories in two of the four states that went to the polls on Saturday— cited “pharmaceuticals” as villains to be brought to political justice?
In fact, in recent weeks the populist mogul has attacked the drug industry repeatedly, in terms that might seem unfamiliar for a Republican—any Republican, that is, other than the consciously iconoclastic Trump.

To be sure, most of Trump’s 2016 campaign healthcare plan is in keeping with orthodox Republicanism. Most obviously, he urges the “full repeal” of Obamacare.
Yet at the same, Trump, marching to his own drummer, has also said, “We’re not going to let people die in squalor.” So, whereas some Republicans would be happy repealing Obamacare and leaving it at that, Trump is determined to replace the Democrats’ national health plan with a comprehensive plan of his own. Indeed, the billionaire seems to be on his way to articulating his own vision of a right-of-center “social contract.” More on that later.
In the meantime, Trump has been specific on two policy ideas, both of which are anathema to the pharmaceutical companies and their traditional Republican allies.
The first idea is reimportation; the second is price-negotiation. Let’s look at each in turn:
Reimportation means bringing back US-made drugs that were sold overseas at a price lower than that in America, thereby lowering the price in the US. As the trade publication FiercePharma notes, the drug companies hate the idea:
Industry lobbyists have fought against previous proposals to allow drugs to flow into the U.S.–a higher-priced market–from countries where they’re less expensive. Bills including the provision have been defeated several times in Congress.

Trump is worse than Obama.
Not to mention these same corporations are the ones who are using lower cost foreign labor home and abroad and lowering our living standards. They are also “working with the Democrats to get things done.”
Seems like that’s one of those auto-fill features that all Breitbart authors have to contend with. Obvious blunder.

Categorically BS. Paying the highest price for drugs by means of donor class payoffs to politicians is corruption.. I do know what that is.
No industry wants that, of course, and neither should any innovation-conscious consumer.

Who needs a golden goose pipeline when we have so many of today's diseases under control? Antibiotics wiped out bacterial infections, and viruses no longer mutate. Cancer is almost cured and as the baby boomers age, they'll be more than happy with what's available today. Drugs for people, not for profit!
It's strange that a Presidential candidate who's made much of his campaign about keeping illegals out of the US, has no issues about opening the borders to drugs from other countries. He talks a good talk about keeping jobs here in America, but with his plans, has no qualms about inflicting potential job losses in the pharmaceutical industry.
I see you know jack squat about the pharmaceutical industry.

Ever think that we should get the best value for our tax dollars... or are you so sold on graft, kick-backs and donor controlled politics as just part of the system.

They used to teach Economics and the Constitution in school. Lots of illiterates out there believing that government is best suited for managing the free market. Utopia is just one more bureaucrat away.
