“I’ve never seen anything like this.. but the Republican establishment seems to be desperate to pick their own candidate.”

Desperate or angry?

The establishment has had their way with picking the candidate in every election since Reagan. They were angry then as well.

Reagan upset a lot of the establishment’s plans and they don’t like it when their plans are upset. It gets in the way of their crony-capitalist money making deals.

Trump is not one of the political insiders and Cruz is bomb throwing reformer. They are not happy with either prospect.

Back in 1980, the establishment simply waited until the convention, then pressured Reagan into accepting Bush as his running-mate. I'm sure that was the long-standing paradigm for such things.

Now, we have the establishment soliciting public attacks on the party frontrunner. They are announcing very clearly that the choice of the people is a secondary consideration, at best. Even Rev. Graham doesn't speak of the likely implications.

The GOPe is steering a course that leads off the edge of the map. Here, there be dragons.

Read this about Cruz. Some think he is a neocon/globalist pretender who ‘fought’ in the Senate to give himself reformer cred.
