He is self-funding his campaign, he isn’t a puppet of special interests or corporate donors, and he’s not a politician

Interesting you should say that. Trump has spent most of his life lobbying for favors from politicians. He has lots of what they call "walking around money" and yeah people listen to him because he a self-supporting money bag.

Not a puppet of special interest? Well, he is his own special interest.

Corporate donors? Again he knows how to play the game. Give a little to get a little. The old scratch-my-back routine.

So, now he wants to be THE politician so he can be in control all to turn everything his way.

What makes him different from George Soros?

Wasting.Your.Time.

I could ask you why you’re voting for Cruz, and then after you list the myriad reasons, I could tell you why you are wrong and how flawed Cruz is.

It wouldn’t work to convince you to vote for Trump, or any one else for that matter, so why bother? I’ll just have to assume you’ve given the election serious thought and Cruz is the guy who floats your boat. And Trump is my choice.

Soros isn't an American patriot. Trump is. Moreover, he's fiercely protective of his "brand".

Look at it this way. Even if you believe Trump is just in this for an ego trip and doesn't really care about the country or its citizenry (a serious stretch given any impartial look at the record), Trump as POTUS will view attacks on the US as attacks on him personally and will therefore act in America's interest because any denigration of America will be taken personally. Trump likes to win. If he views himself as the embodiment of the country then he's going to ensure that America wins. It's just basic psychology.

Of course, that's a cynical view of public service, but the point is even if you take the cynical view America's interests will be better served with a President Trump vs. a President Hillary. By contrast, the notion that Hillary wants to be president as a public service calling is laughable.
