Think! Now she gets the opportunity to learn how to make real license plates!

Reminds me of a time early in my career when I needed to get into a controlled area to get a computer tape with some radar data. To get in one had to have a yellow badge clipped to one's shirt, and my badge was only green.
Then I spied the candy machine in the corner of the room that had bags of peanut M&Ms in yellow bags.
20 minutes later I was back at my desk with magnetic tape in hand (and a pocket full of peanut M&Ms).

I was in the Air Force and did this with a military base sticker back in '71. I couldn't afford insurance on my old VW bus so I painted one on my bumper.
Worked for a good while till I got pulled over for something else and the MPs tried to read the sticker. SAC base. A good time was had by all.
Yeah, I wasn't smart then. I'm brilliant now, though.

I wonder what the penalty would be for stealing a license plate?

I had a 1973 H2 - very fast back in the day but a terror in turns. I had proper registration, but never got around to getting a motorcycle license.

A quick Google image search reveals plenty of plates she could have downloaded, modified the text a printed. Still would have eventually gotten caught, but it would have looked a lot more realistic than they painted cardboard she used.

When I served in the Navy you had to show your ID card and liberty card to leave the ship after working hours. My ID card was not to be found one day, so I took a dollar bill and folded it to fit in a holder in my wallet, flashed it and my liberty card to the OOD and saluted, and was off the ship. I guess I must have looked like George Washington.

That is Marc Brown: I lived there many years — I agree he is a great anchor. After moving from L.A. I learned just how spoiled I was there. The daily people there a 1000% better than the high-priced spread in the rest of the country, including here in NY/NJ.
I miss a lot of things abut L.A. and the news is just at the tip of the list.
(I wonder if anyone ever noticed that resemblance)
