New York woman arrested for driving with a handmade license plate.
On Friday, CBS News reported that Amanda Schweickert, 28, of Sardinia is in trouble for using a fake license plate. She is not supposed to be driving because she has a suspended registration and no car insurance. However, it did not stop her from using a little creativity.
She decided to create her own license plate. Authorities say she used a piece of cardboard and painted blue text on it. Although the plate didnt look too dreadful, it fooled no one. On Wednesday, a police officer pulled Schweickert over in Springville after noticing the odd-looking license plate. Her charges include felony count of possessing a forged instrument, operating a vehicle with a suspended registration, and three traffic violations. Authorities locked her up and set bail set at $400.
The Eerie County Sheriffs Department posted a photograph of the fake plate on their Facebook page. The department also included a reminder that using a fake license plate is illegal. The department takes their license plate offenses seriously.

That’s what 3D computers are for..........
Looks like it might have been made by the same guy that made Hussein’s birth certificate.
A felony stupid/crappy artwork Ping ...
Well, at least it looks stunningly real ...........
+1
It reminds me of Rubio trying to use the conservative label on himself.
Seems legit..
reminds me of when i put ‘lost Plate” on my 1972 kawasaki h2 and a Statey pulled me over to explain why I needed a ticket.
that was the last time in the 70’s that i did not Rabbit.
Public service announcement. Never, ever go to the examiner blog for any reason, ever.
But since you were nice enough to post most of the article and graphics, I can mention that it’s very easy to create a realistic-looking 77 sticker that will fit in the corner of a license plate of a 1971 gremlin that you buy in 1977. Or so I’ve heard.
Now what if she were driving a homemade cardboard car? Would that be OK?
Also, she misspelled GFY.
A guy I grew up with used to do that for the sticker on his motorcycle plate.
Of course.
Will Amanda now get the opportunity to make
real metal license plates?
B+ for effort, D- for execution. The compulsion to get in your car and drive is very strong, even when you have a suspended license. You would have thought, a girl of her generation would be tech savvy enough to print out her own copy, not that I’m recommending that. Is’nt the news article doing her a dis-service by publicizing her license number? Now, everybody knows of a real license number that is presently not being used. Illegals love stuff of that nature.
Fake but accurate.
