FWIW, OH is my home state now (I have to change that). In MA (my home at-heart), there are a lot of very well-maintained state parks. It's definitely where stewardship belongs. You also have a national seashore on Cape Cod, which is a good thing. The Cape Cod environment is fragile.

In OH you have some crazy people who won't be happy until every square foot of Cuyahoga County is paved, and pols owned by them. People are FINALLY waking up....a little.

A lot of state controlled public land here in PA. And some beautiful parks and hunting lands.

Unfortunately the voters are largely in big cities and vote Democrat to the detriment of the rest of us.
