Don’t panic, GOP — Donald Trump can beat Hillary
The New York Post ^ | 05 Mar 2016 11:24pm | Michael Goodwin

At the end of “The Candidate,” the  engrossing 1972 film about the underbelly of campaigns, rookie  politician Robert Redford is  shocked by his triumph. Grabbing his handler, he pleads, “What do we do now?”

In a case of life imitating art, Donald Trump finds himself in a similar situation. His improbable run is rocking and shocking the world, but after each victory, the climb only gets steeper.

The home stretch of the nomination race is going to be ferocious, and if he survives, he faces a general-election war against Hillary Clinton that would be unlike any in modern times.

Is Trump built to go the distance?

ALL THE FORCES of the Democratic and Republican parties, the media, the Establishment and the rest of the planet are aligned against him.

Not to mention the Nine Realms of the Convergence

By the way, I've seen Hillary without her human disguise. She looks like this:

Disagree. The press gives her a 5 point head start. Don’t know how much, but vote fraud will help her. She has public employee unions doing free ground work for her as her foot soldiers. Her ground game includes absentee votes from care facilities were they control for whom the people vote. Without checking ID, what is the downside for illegals to vote? What is the downside for a massive number of students voting at their home and where they go to college?

So it is a given Hillary’s Email and Health problems amount to nothing and she will be the nominee

Spoken like a true “purist”.

You sound like Bill Clinton or Barack Obama, “It’s not my fault!”

Spoken like a true “purist”.

And you speak like a committed Trump Chump. Blind yourself to your candidates weaknesses if you want. And when if he loses you can always blame it on vote fraud.

As long as there are “purists” like you, there will be self-justified voter fraud.

Go away, and pee on another tree.

The odds are steep - prediction markets hold Hillary has a 64% chance of winning in November and Trump has 20%.

A lot of work ahead for The Donald to unite a fractured party behind him and look like someone who doesn’t scare off moderate and Independent voters.

His task is made easier by the fact most Americans don’t know him well and the GOP Convention in Cleveland would allow him to appear presidential to a national audience.

So there’s plenty of time to be able to beat Hillary. That work begins the moment he clinches the nomination.

November will answer all questions and prove or disprove all myths and speculations we are seeing and hearing now.

Although I disagree with the part that most Americans don’t know him well. But I agree he has a chance to start appearing presidential once he gets the nomination. So far, he hasn’t been and that’s why his negative rating is so high

RitaOKC had an excellent post itemizing Cruz’s establishment credentials - I’ll try to recap...and obviously Cruz supporters will ignore to support their Canuck messiah.

-Cruz voted for TPP
-Cruz voted for Corker’s Iran nuke deal
-Cruz, as an executive on NRSC, donated $250k at the behest of McConnell, that was used in the 2014 Mississippi fraud
-Cruz joined Bushie organization in 2000
-Cruz wrote WSJ op-ed to endorse Dread Pirate John Roberts for SCOTUS (an indicator of future appointments)
-Cruz now has JEB campaign team on his staff - THAT screams Establishment
-No doubt, Hellry would not only sue him (NBC) if Cruz is nominee but would eat him alive on debates. A polite Hahvud debater is NOT what is needed to defeat the witch
-Heidi Cruz on CFR’s North American Union that pushes NO BORDERS
-Cruz was supporting amnesty...until recently - a move so transparent anyone can see his dishonesty
-Jeff Sessions endorsed Trump - not Cruz
-Sarah Palin endorsed Trump - not Cruz
-Cruz continues to partner with the lunatic Glenn Beck

Cruzers need to wake up and see Cruz as the stealth Establishment candidate he always has been.

Cruz, Rubio and the establishment have all teamed up to take Trump out.

All I ever hear from Cruz is to beat Trump, what about Clinton?

Cruz is so smug right now with the establishment that he can’t even see that he will be knifed in the back when they don’t need him.

How many Democrat-to-Republican crossover voters disenchanted with Hillary will vote for Cruz? SLIM TO NONE.

How many Democrat-to-Republican crossover voters disenchanted with Hillary will vote for Trump? A YUUUGE AMOUNT!!!!

Cruzers need to wake up and see Cruz as the stealth Establishment candidate he always has been.

***

Whether you’re correct or not, it’s not going to happen. Not even going to be considered.

The tribalism that’s taken hold of many Cruzies (and Trumpees) is beyond logic; it’s gotten into tribalism and defense mechanisms.

Specifically, splitting, in the psychological sense. Because Cruz (or Trump) isn’t doing as well as they want him to be doing, and they can’t handle that, then one of them is 100% good and pure and virtuous, and the other is 100% wicked and evil. Cruz hasn’t been doing well—or Trump hasn’t been winning as much as he should be, or whatever—and therefore it must be because Trump and his supporters are purely evil. (Again, or vice versa, because there’s some of it on our side too.)

It’s a fairly primal defense mechanism, but it’s not uncommon.

Buuuuut I’m very sure that they’re not going to listen, at least not to someone online who they see as the enemy.

If it comes right down to it, does anybody think the brilliant, tough Trump could not wipe the floor with the criminal Hillary?

I posted historical facts of Cruz following Establishment guides and policies.

Only a fool would deny factual reality.

Well, when one is laboring under the splitting defense mechanism, factual reality doesn’t matter. It’s either good or evil and there’s nothing in between, facts be damned.

I’m not saying that it’s right; I’m just pretty sure that it’s happening.
