For the record, I don’t smoke pot. But I do have friends who are involved in the business of it (legally and not), so I’m pretty conversant in what’s happening. You can think of it as a continuum with pot grown legally in the U.S. on one extreme and pot grown south of the border on the other, with illegal growing in the U.S. in the middle. There’s overlap between pot grown legally and illegally in the U.S. and there’s overlap between pot grown illegally in the U.S. and illegally south of the border, but there’s no overlap between pot grown legally in the U.S. and pot grown illegally south of the border.
