Shattuck: Trump is wise to skip conservative confab CPAC
The Boston Herald ^ | 3/05/16 | Tom Shattuck

It’s morning again in America. On the wintry banks of the Potomac, throngs of conservative millennials shake off their hangovers and embark upon day four of CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) — but today’s is a hollow pilgrimage.

After Thursday night’s ambuscade during which Donald Trump was jumped by the Fox News triad of Megyn Kelly, Brett Baier and Chris Wallace to the delight of the cackling mob, he made the decision to blow off today’s 8:30 a.m. appearance and fly to Kansas to campaign instead.

Sorry GOP establishment. You don’t have Trump to kick around anymore.

The reality TV show star is now bigger than all the rest of the establishment — media and political — and he needs to take the show on the road, pedal to the metal, and not relent.

No sleep till 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

They admitted the entire thing was going to be devoted to taking him out, and he should show up because?

Does anyone know of a working cpac live stream? The ABC steam isn’t working.

He went to Wichita, and actually led a parade of voters to the caucuses there! Much better than a “straw poll” at political freak show.

Reposting here sorry......Maybe CPAC will host a convention the day before another multi-state primary. How stupid of CPAC to schedule a conference the day before a multi state conference? They should have held the conference in one of the contested states so it could double as a campaign stop. Think about that next time you dopes.
This was smart of Trump. It shows he is putting the voters first

Trump learned much from Michael Bloomberg. Bloomberg used the Republican Party as a vehicle to become Mayor of New York City. Like Trump he had no prior roots or philosophical identification with the Republicans prior to his election campaign. Both these billionaires are able to ignore the “Republican establishment”, finance their own campaigns and go directly to the voters. Both are able and skillful in attracting many to the Republican Party who had never voted for a Republican before and may not ever again. The “Republican establishment” is seven to ten thousand people who derive their power from money, access to the media and those in elected office. Bloomberg demonstrated that with enough money , these “establishment” people can be bypassed. Trump is doing what Bloomberg did. William Randolph Heart tried but failed to do it in the early 20th century.

I gave up on CCRAP after watching all day yesterday. I was pretty poor. Every Dyke and their dog was there and some crazy Latina blabbering on forever and a minute. Kasich got spotlighted and spoke til he finally ran out of stuff to say.

Trump isn’t missing a thing and he needs to miss those last two debates as well.

I think CPAC was a GOPee PSYOP to neutralize the Ron Paul brigades and other committed conservatives. Once again Donald Trump has shined the light of truth under the rock and on the maggot pile.

I wish he could sue them for all the money he’s donated to them. At least I read somewhere on FR that he’s fairly regularly donated to them over some years.

Wouldn’t it be hilarious if Trump won the straw poll anyway?

Of course he won’t, but he shouldn’t feel too bad to NOT be in this club!

“Winner” followed by 2nd place

2006 George Allen 22% John McCain 20%
2007 Mitt Romney 21% Rudy Giuliani 17%
2008 Mitt Romney 35% John McCain 34%
2009 Mitt Romney 20% Bobby Jindal 14%
2010 Ron Paul 31% Mitt Romney 22%
2011 Ron Paul 30% Mitt Romney 23%
2012 Mitt Romney 38% Rick Santorum 31%
2013 Rand Paul 25% Marco Rubio 23%
2014 Rand Paul 31% Ted Cruz 11%
2015 Rand Paul 26% Scott Walker 21%

(who the hell was George Allen, anyway?)

CPAC needs to take conservative off its name and replace it with coward or cave-in. Three days of loudmouths speaking to a bunch of fellow RINO wannabe conservatives, and getting loud cheers. Then it’s back to DC or other hometowns where they continue the old pattern of cowering to the left and selling out to save their sorry political hides. CPAC is an enormous joke. They can keep preaching the conservative line and no one out here will take them seriously because the only thing coming out of that conference is hot air.

Trump ought to tell Rinse he is done with debates.

Those things aren’t good for any of the candidates.

They have done enough and they aren’t about policy, just about bucks for the media and slinging gotcha mud.

Trump was right to skip CPAC. The votes are in Kansas not Washington. Why give the anti-trump activists a target

I’m sure he can’t really sue them, but I wish he’d make it more well-known that he’s contributed to them. Not to make a “quid pro quo” point, but to make the point that an organisation he’s materially supported (ie, more than lip service) is attempting to stab him in the back.

George Allen used the made up word “Macaca” to refer to S. R. Sidarth, who was filming the event as a “tracker” for the opposing Jim Webb campaign. The MSM went on a rampage, and he folded like a .... whatever.

I have been so pleased with what Donald Trump has done on his own, that I have even stopped telling him what to do. The amazing thing is that even Mrs. Submareener has stopped telling him what to do! Of course I have to make sure she sees every Trump event! Thank God for RSBN.TV and OANN!
