Part of the problem with these elitists is that they view the voters as the "rank and file" as if we are an army to stand in line and march on command.
We have a number of collective interests generally called the "common good" for which we pay taxes and agree to submit to a government. But the govenment left us, all of us, long ago ignoring the "common good." And so we look for a new arrangement, the sworn rank and file of no established order.
It is disgraceful. These people have no shame at all.
If only Mittens had a backbone when he ran for Prez...
Aren’t we so lucky to have Romney, man who’s there to keep us from making mistakes. We’re even luck he has grandchildren, otherwise he might not have found the motivation to help all the rest of us who cannot be trusted to think for ourselves.
My suspicion is that a lot of these “rank and file” Republicans who are fanatically following Trump are not really Republicans, but, rather, working class dems and independents. I guess we’ll see how the caucuses turn out tonight.
But I do agree that what Romney or any other GOP establishment elitists say would not deter me from voting for Trump, if he was my guy. Go Cruz!!!
If Trump is booted out at the convention and goes 3rd party, it will divide the conservatives, perhaps giving the election to Hillary. Stopping Trump and letting Hillary get elected is a win/win for the GOP establishment. Status Quo, baby!
Unless Trump can wake up enough conservatives and Reagan democrats, and pull off a ‘bull moose’ win.
Unleash the Trumpan!!!
We are telling them to “Stick it” ,too. GO Trump.
“The party they hold dear” Please! The self interests they hold dear!
We have to be in the Twilight Zone where the quintessential catalysts for what is happening can't understand what is happening.
NY Slimes loves it.
We see McCain and Romney’s track record. They love to preach to everyone, but they do little to change things. It is a lot of hot air. They should stop it; the voters will sort this mess out. The media should not pick another President. The establishment should not pick another President.
Heading makes it seem like all rank and file republicans. Should have said rank and file Trump supporting republicans.
Rank and file. Im a leader. Ive always been a leader. Ive never had any problem leading people. If I say do it, theyre gonna do it. Thats what leadership is all about. Donald J. Trump
Bwahahahaha.
It’s really not that complicated. For decades, the GOP rank & file have been screaming: “Fix This!!”. In response, the Party elites and elected officials have (for the most part) responded with platitudes and excuses for inaction. The people who are nominated often seem to be extremely poor candidates who lack the backbone to fight (Dole, McCain, and Romney).
The people are both sick of it and (by now) wise to it. Which is why a shiny, prepackaged candidate like Rubio is going nowhere. Or why an “experienced, adult-in-the-room” like Kasich gets ignored. People want a Bull-in -the-China-Shop to break the Party down and rebuild it into something that is actually RESPONSIVE to their concerns.
For better or worse, Trump is that person and his rise is the result of decades of GOP complacency toward its base.
After winning nomination, Trump ought to thank Romney and McCain. While he could have won it eventually anyway, the two have hastened the decision.
It’s almost a certainty that ROMNEY is playing the “beard” for Paul Ryan, who is the cutsey kid from Leave It to Beaver, but is Open Borders and North American Union all the way.
Beware of Paul Ryan. One of the Three Young Guns, Eric Cantor, Kevin McCarthy and Paul Ryan.
Two down and Ryan “to go”.
All hail President Clinton.
Yeah, the GOPe is in denial about the strength of support for Trump, and they ignore it at their own risk.
A large portion of the electorate feel totally disenfranchised, and they see Trump as their way out of the political netherworld.
Calling in the last two GOPe losers (McCain and Romney) will not stop the landslide, only add to it.
