All over the planet, it’s not left vs right.
It’s elites vs the people.
Either we get destroyed or they do. I do not see any other outcome.

A friend of mine who does a lot of vacation traveling told me last year they went to France, and wouldn't go back because of the Muslims and the French no-go Zones.
He jut got back from Sicily where he spent the month of February and enjoyed it immensely.
I am afraid if the Europeans close their borders to the Muslim Hegira, the Italians won't be able to wave the Muslims through to Sweden and Germany and other naive European countries as both the Italian and Greeks have done in the past.
So there might be a deliberate buildup in Italy and Sicily of these Muslims.
Sicily was dominated by Muslims in the past centuries and you know it will be a target again. -Tom

It is tragic what has happened in Sweden. It started long ago with attacks against Jews by Muslim “immigrants.”

I see the elites as puppet masters - they control politicians on both left and right, they control the discourse, and they drive an agenda that will result in utter enslavement for my children.
If folks were more engaged civically we wouldn’t be at this juncture.
That's entirely true, but misses the main point: why should the elites give the sheep a break? What duty do they "owe" to anyone, other than to maximize their own power & wealth?
Who writes the rules? Who says they cannot control a political party to advance their agenda? Who says they cannot lie, cheat & steal to gain an advantage? As Sun Tzu states:
It is the People's responsibility, and no one else, to achieve (and maintain) their liberty & freedom to pursue "happiness". It is futile to blame elites for acting in a completely rationale manner; like the scorpion, "it's what they do".
Generally speaking, elites are more intelligent than the masses. They understand the need to control the narrative, thus gained complete control over the media. They understand the need to appeal to simple concepts, to leverage trigger terms in order to create emotional responses and gain (party) loyalty.
It has only been fairly recent that people across the entire political spectrum have woken up to what has occurred. But that doesn't necessarily imply victory - rather, it signals the beginning of the campaign to wage a fierce counter-attack. I don't know if Trump is the answer, but he's currently the only one at least saying the right things.
If he fails - in either getting elected, or once elected, laughs at all the suckers who supported him - then we're just another step down the path towards Matt's future America.
If Trump fails to get elected, the nation is done.
I expect a lot of push-back on this, but it’s true IMO.
