The United States is set to send nuclear-capable B-52 warplanes to bomb ISIS.

The warplanes will start attacking terrorist targets in Syria and Iraq in April as they replace B-1s that have returned to the US for updates.

It is not clear how many of the mammoth B-52s and airmen will take part in the deployment, that could see the bombers based at an American airbase in Qatar.

Given Obama’s endless treason against America
and the US Constitution, THIS is more likely
a technology transfer to Iran, the Moslem
Brotherhood and ISIS (allies of Obama and his White Mosque).

Russia does the work and Obama will claim the credit. He actually does believe it! It’s what makes him so convincing that he has a 51% approval rating.

Talk about needless sensationalism. Nuclear-capable? Like Obama would EVER even contemplate bombing Muslims, let alone unleashing a nuke anywhere around them.

Hysterical tripe.

The B-52 bombers will be only utilized to scatter leaflets warning the inhabitants of the target areas that there “may” be some strafing runs by A-10’s, to duck and get out of the way.

Hell of a way to fight a war.

Oh great. Obama is going to find out about this in the newspaper, and stop it.

I guess they don’t care about Russian S400’s. We’re going from a radar cross section of about one square meter to about 5000.

Detection by the S-400 batteries at Latakia depends on which direction they approach from and the Earth’s curvature will hide them despite the vaunted detection range. The batteries are in a low level (almost sea level) site - well situated for detecting planes from sea or from Turkey, buy not so much from other directions.

Raqqa and most of the ISIS positions are east of the Euphrates and southerly through Iraq.

Say what you will about the Russians. I firmly believe the only reduction in Muslims detrimental to the world at large is due to them.

They will not be dropping cluster munitions, bunker busters, or continuous strips of bombs, but individual guided precision bombs - these will take out some buildings and fighting positions, but do little harm to the ISIS troops or command structure which will be waiting it out 30 or more feet underground. Afterward ISIS will emerge and carry on operations as before.

A waste of time, effort, money, equipment, material, and people, but it makes 0bama look good.

To be fair the US took out some hundreds of thousands counting enemy casualties on both fronts - Iraq and Afghan.

Oh yes, and I wasn’t specifically including the Pre and Early Obama implications of what the US did in Iraq and Afghanistan. I was talking more about afterwards with Obama’s Special-Muslim-Sauce handling of current affairs.

Regardless, I take your point and agree.

No kidding.

Plus it’s possible that some of the B-52s going over there are no longer coded for the nuclear mission. Several have had the equipment stripped out to meet START restrictions.

The US could also send “nuclear capable” 155mm Howitzers to attack ISIS.

M109 self-propelled, M114 towed howitzers and M198 towed howitzers delivered 155mm W48 nuclear weapons as early as 1963. Here is a neat video of a 280mm cannon firing a nuclear round.

However, B52s are very effective at delivering Small Diameter Bombs (GBU-39/B) 285lb. A single aircraft can drop 110 of these independently targeted bombs, and can drop them up to 60 nautical miles (69 statute miles) away, and they still very accurately hit their targets.
