A solid Mississippi poll (full pdf below including crosstabs) shows candidate Donald Trump with a significant lead in the state. [The Mississippi Primary is Tuesday March 8th] State polling results show Donald Trump 41%, Ted Cruz 17% and Marco Rubio 16%.
Results from a statewide poll commissioned by Y’allPolitics and conducted by Magellan Strategies BR on Monday evening show that Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton both hold commanding leads heading into next week’s presidential primaries. Remarkably, both Trump and Clinton were winning not only by wide margins, but also across most every demographic and voter type.
On the Republican side, Donald Trump appears to hold a commanding lead over his nearest rivals. His support measured 41%. Ted Cruz came in second at 17% closely followed by Marco Rubio at 16%. John Kasich and Ben Carson rounded out the field with 8% and 5% respectively. 13% of GOP voters were undecided. These results seem to track very closely with Super Tuesday results in Tennessee and Alabama.

Ted Cruz is done. I don’t remember a more favorable election cycle in history for him- trying to appeal to the “evangelical” vote. The fact that he is not in the lead right now speaks volumes.
If he is going to get trounced in MS, he has no chance in the West, NE, or the Big 10 states.
Hopefully Trump can squeeze out another 2% from Cruz, putting him in third.

it think trumps polls are over stated by about 15% don’t know why.
Oh he is ...mysteriously the results will be a lot tighter than the polls indicate and Cruz and Lubio’s numbers magically increase when the votes are counted
I hope Mississippi voters vote for Cruz.
Cruz is conservative.
Trump is anti conservative
Cruz is getting crushed all over the south and it’s not even close. It doesn’t bode well for him as a national candidate, and I think most Republican voters know that too.
BUT... BUT... BUT... EVANGELICALS! BIBLE BELT! DOES NOT COMPUTE!
But really, this is going to be a slaughter. Rube has no path to the nomination and Cruz can't even win in his best region. Oh wait, I forgot Kasich. Just like everyone else.
