Behind Trump's CPAC deal gone bad
Politico ^ | March 4, 2016 | Kenneth P. Vogel

Donald Trump spent five years building a mutually beneficial relationship with the organization that hosts the annual Conservative Political Action Conference, filling its coffers with at least $150,000 in cash and scoring coveted speaking slots that started him on a course towards winning the Republican presidential nomination.

But he ended up canceling what would have been his biggest CPAC speech at the last minute amid plans for protest and disruptions, apparently deciding that his surging presidential campaign no longer needed any boost from the once-storied group.

Teddy lost his earpiece 1/2 way through that so-called debate, so nobody was telling the parrot what to say.

Well Cruz showed up and answered questions. Trump had been to CPAC before so he knew the routine Answering questions are for losers? Really?

RE: Even a drunk slug, in a saucer of stale beer isn’t as dumb as YOU are.

The intellectual abilities of the average Trump supporter continue to impress me

The fellow “Temple” who organized the protest/walkout should be tossed out from this year’s convention and banned from any future events. Similarly, any co-organizers or attendees who intended to participate.

Their stunt deprived the attendees from hearing what Trump might have had to say (or they could have skipped that session if they’re #neverTrump folks). It didn’t help the reputation of the group that has struggled for the past decade or more.

CPAC is not anywhere near what it was....it’s a globalist, libertarian sewer these days.

CPAC was co-opted by the muzzie loving Grover Al Norquist.

Not at all what it was originally meant to be :(

The intellectual levels of the big’ol_cRuzer’s fail to impress me. So there’s that.

Sounds like A LOT MORE than a handful. Once that bunch gets a foot in the door, they enter with FULL FORCE.

Smart move by Trump, and disappointing to see our side SELL OUT so easily, just to not go broke.

I don’t disagree with you one iota.

But I couldn’t help thinking a few things at the time.

If Trump had not answered he would have been absolutely badgered until he did so.

Cruz and Rubio would have badgered him too - along with the moderators.

Trump WOULD have answered, I have no doubt about that - because he is not scripted like every single other candidate.

Whatever his answer was, he would have been pilloried for it EITHER WAY in the 24/7 news cycle on TV and it would have made the front page.

Yup...Grover is a monster. CPAC is dead. The Pauls, father & son also have polluted the place.

Trump has rallies planned:

Saturday, March 5, Wichita, KS @ 9:00 A.M.

Saturday, March 5, Orlando, Florida @ 12:00 noon

He has meetings in between and after the Florida rally, plus he will be spending some time in Mar-A-Logo...

Thanks you. Knew I had registered it from somewhere. And i agree it is better to talk to thousands of voters in kansas, Louisiana, Florida, than to waste time being the head in the shooting gallery in Washington. Napoleon said to always choose your battlefields when you can. He was right most of the time.

You will find nothing in it about a right to privacy or homo marriage either. If they decide to control homo adoption the tyrants in black robes will just do it.

How does Beck get by saying such a thing? Shouldn’t he be reprimanded, suspended, something?! If any of us said something like that any Potus candidate, we would be in real trouble.

Read the article.

BobL left out the part where the gay GOProud guy is the person who first invited Trump to speak at CPAC in 2011 and Trump accepted as a guest of GOProud.

It’s in the article.

Exactly. Shows there is nothing conservative about CPAC. Why would anybody invite Beck, a man unhinged who threatened to stab Trump, as a speaker?

I don’t think you are disagreeing with me. Supporting a big-government statist like Trump is not going to change that.
