(Lindsey) Graham asks: Would military break law under Trump?

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) wants to know if the military would carry out orders illegal under international law after GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump suggested it would if he wins the White House.

Graham, who put national security at the center of his failed White House bid, sent a letter Friday to Gen. Joseph Dunford, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, about potential future presidential orders to intentionally target terrorists' families or reinstate waterboarding.

"If issued orders to target noncombatants, including children, or to use waterboarding or other extreme interrogation techniques, would you view these orders as lawful?" Graham asked in the letter.

He also wants to know what advice Dunford would give to troops asked to carry out the actions.

Linda Graham is so concerned about illegal activities of a president then why doesn’t he take it up with someone that is currently doing just that, with President Obama?

The far better question is why they haven’t done so in the last seven years. If not then, they’ll never do it

Here is the real point no one mentioned.

In a war if you catch the enemy behind your lines and not in a uniform they ate spies.

Spies under the Geneva Convention can be executed on the spot with no court.

Basically they have no rights.

Screw international law.

The US government has a solemn responsibility to the troops it sends into harm’s way.

I have English friends - mostly born after WWII - who excoriate Bomber Harris.

I once told an Australian woman who denigrated US contributions in WW2: "The US is the reason why you are not a sex slave in a Japanese brothel. You're welcome."

Do Black Ops break the war rules?

War is Hell, said Sherman. It isn't supposed to be pretty or gallant. It is s dirty, filthy, bloody business and I thank God there are men and women willing to do it.

Indeed, and that wrong has been righted.

There is now a Bomber Command memorial because the UK has come to grips with Bomber Command and Harris. The Bomber Command memorial is in Green Park, along Piccadilly, just across the street from the Royal Air Force Club at 128 Piccadilly.

I’ve visited the memorial and it is a moving experience, and the RAF Club has memorabilia from Bomber Command.
