Cruz reminds me of Captain Smith of the Titanic.

Barrels along smugly thinking his ship is unsinkable.

I won’t vote for Cruz. He has proved to be an establishment Bushlike sellout drunk on ambition.

He is done with me and if he should win, which he will not.
I stay home.

And you CW, are a tool.

Last night’s debate further confirms the unfortunate truth that Donald Trump is just common white trash with money.
Unfortunate that such a no class slob may win the GOP nomination.
Trump people are freaking nuts!

I’ve been on FR for over a decade and I honestly don’t remember vicious personal attacks like I see coming from Trump supporters.

Cruz got “Booger Branded” last night.

Looks permanent to me.

I switched from Cruz to Trump because I have never heard Cruz answer several simple questions: 1) If he has undivided loyalty to the United States, why did he wait until 2014 to renounce his Canadian citizenship (the Establishment views divided loyalties as an asset, not a liability)? 2) What do Peter Thiel, Robert Mercer and other billionaire supporters want from Cruz (they are not family values conservatives)? 3) Why did Cruz tell potential New York donors (New York values?) that reversing the gay marriage decision by the Supreme Court was not one of his top 10 concerns? and 4) What role will Glenn Beck have in a Cruz administration (Beck does nothing unless there is a payoff for him)? Neither Cruz nor his surrogates seem to want to address these simple questions. If they are answered sincerely and satisfactorily, I am prepared to gladly switch back to Cruz.

Cruz is the best candidate we’ve had in decades. He is the guy we have said we were waiting for. If we don’t support him, shame on us.

Trump is my #2 choice, due to his stance on national sovereignty. It is that important. I don’t have a #3 choice.

But Cruz is the complete package. Moral, honest, a devout Christian, an equally devout constitutionalist, his views are coherent and principled, and he has proven himself willing to fight and willing to stand alone if need be on principle. No one else running, no one else who has thought of running, comes close.

Ignore the Noise Machine. Ignore the mud slingers, ignore the people who can only argue by ad hominem, in both directions. We know who these people are, the good and bad, Trump, Rubio, Cruz, Kasich. It is the job of the Noise Machine to change the subject, but we can simply tune it out. Trump will be a better president than you might think; Cruz will be the best president in generations.

” No, the most principled Republican in thirty years would be running against the least principled Democrat in the history of the Republic. “

Agree. That’s an excellent way of framing it.

But I just don’t see how Cruz beats Hillary in FL and PA, it ain’t gonna happen.

This campaign season, finally, would be fun.

This campaign season IS fun, IMHO, at least compared to the others I've seen. Trump says something absolutely insane every once in a while, which is often amusing, and both Trump and Cruz get the liberal media completely crazed, also entertaining. Rubio often crosses the line between funny and just tacky for me, but he's cracked me up at time or two as well.

Not a Trump fan, and I think the fact that he can't articulate his plans in the debates is just more evidence that he's not going to follow through, but I do think he's helped to liven things up.

I keep wanting to do a youtube video comparing how Trump and Cruz deal with challenges on the road. Trump shuts them down and throws them out, which is admittedly pretty standard, but some of the snipes he sends after them are not. Cruz, OTOH, quiets his own crowd, gives the challenger a chance to make their case, and then shreds that case. Cruz knows what he believes and why he believes it so thoroughly he's not threatened by hecklers. I haven't seen anything like it since Reagan, but Reagan didn't take it to this level and was much more likely to toss off a quip than to seriously engage the heckler's points. Reagan was both a charmer and an entertainer at heart.

Cruz is neither, but he is crazy smart, and also crazy committed to the Constitution. I don't know if he's going to win this Presidential election, but I do think he's going to be a force to be reckoned with for some time to come. We are fortunate to have him.

Cruz is not qualified per the natural born citizen clause.

The only thing a vote for Cruz or Rubio does is further the destruction of the natural born citizen clause.

Voted for Ted on Super Tuesday...

How Ted Cruz Became Ted Cruz

In just a few years, he turned an obscure Texas legal post into a national platform for red-meat conservative causes.

I suppose you will consider this a “juvenile” attack also but Ted scares the heck out of me.
As related to me by a Texas friend....
The similarities between him and Obama are downright unnerving.
Both have questionable birth circumstances and will not divulge the paperwork that would clear things up.
Both are “constitutional scholars”. Both have been nothing but lawyers. Both gained Senate seats not with the intent to serve those who elected them but as a stepping stone to the Presidency. Neither of them has ever held a real job of working for someone else or done a payroll so the are aware of just how hard it is to do business in America.
Both have wives who held “jobs” at which both were given huge promotions upon their being elected to senate. Both have been groomed since birth for the sole purpose of attaining the power of the highest office in the land. We now know what the power behind Obama’s push was and since I read up on the 7 Mountain Dominionism “faith” of Ted’s father who anointed him “king”, I question Ted’s goals.
I feel that the conservatism and evangelism were just his perceived niche to get himself into office. His behavior lately surely doesn’t seem along the lines of WWJD.

There was an ideological coherence to his presentation that I have not seen from a presidential candidate since Ronald Reagan.

That's because he knows why he's a conservative and understands the philosophical underpinnings of same that goes back to John Locke. Sadly, Locke is no longer taught in schools. You can't get to Jefferson without passing through Locke and others.

Anyone who still enthusiastically supports Cruz, supports the future destruction of America as the shining city on the hill in favor of a globalist dream of just another element of a union of the Americas, without a nationalist soul.
His immigration policies and his support for awful trade deals are at odds with his stated originalist approach to the Constituion.

Last night, Cruz said to send marriage issue back to states. He, as a Constitutional scholar, knows and said that ,when two states disagree, that we will start all over on the same path that led to the abomination handed down by the Robert’s court on homosexual marriage .

I am beginning to think Cruz just thinks he is so smart he can take any side of any issue so as to gain the power to establish the globalist nightmare the elite want.

We had better realize that nationalism and populism are part of a healthy appreciation of subsidiarity, where the smallest social unit possible is the rightful holder of power. To hand power over to a large global elite is suicide. Cruz is not a true outsider on these issues imh.

The problem with Ted is that he does not have wide spread support. Trump is drawing in people from all corners and that is why Trump will kill Hillary in the primaries.

No, the most principled Republican in thirty years would be running against the least principled Democrat in the history of the Republic.

Would a vastly larger UNprincipled electorate cause any anxiety about the outcome?

Sad United State[s] of affairs, but I'm afraid true none-the-less! For the future of my and your children, I pray I am WRONG!!

May God graciously and mercifully help us, undeserving as a nation as we are.
