House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi warned Thursday that it wouldn't be wise for Republicans to broker a deal that crowns another Republican candidate as the party's presidential nominee if Donald Trump earns the majority of delegates in the upcoming primaries.
"To the Republicans, if they think they are going to upset the verdict of the people in terms of the election, that can really become a very big Pandora's box," Pelosi said. "If someone has the majority of the delegates, from the votes of the people, I think you change that to your peril."
Rumors have swirled in the Capitol about a plot to dethrone Trump, who has angered the GOP establishment with his brash campaign style, proposal to ban Muslim entrants and a pledge to build a wall on the Mexican border. Republicans have said nothing officially about any plans to use the July Republican National Convention to contest a Trump win.
Instead, GOP leaders are taking shots at Trump hoping to hurt his performance in the remaining primaries in order to deprive him of the 1,237 delegates needed to win the nomination.

Well isn’t that special? Nancy Pelosi is so concerned about the future of the Republican Party. Bless her heart.
This is pretty funny, pelosi talking about the will of the people.
That from the leader of the party that lost control of both houses last election. Even though I agree with her, no thanks Nancy.
More interesting is why you questioned the reason for posting it.
Is there something about this post that you find inappropriate?
Personally, I think it's a very interesting development, and I'm glad to have seen this. How is it not something to talk about?
Why would you even question the poster about posting it?
I don't know you, so maybe I'm wrong. But if I may say so, the tone of your question seems sort of accusatory -- the kind of thing I would expect from one of those Trump devotees who trash everyone who has the nerve to posts anything that isn't an outright love poem to Trump.
Am I wrong?
Very true.
Thinking ahead, maybe she is worried that a third party will develop that the Dems couldn’t control or defeat.
Pelosi is concerned about how the Republicans run things? I doubt it. Look for the real reason she piped up.
I was one of those voters who didn’t vote for Romney. My vote, my prerogative.
The Broken Clock Principle
“She probably believes the dem position that Trump can’t beat HRC.”
That would be my guess. Of course Democrats also couldn’t believe their luck when Carter was running against Reagan in 1980
NancyPants is calculating that Trump would be easiest to beat in November.
Good point.
True that
Plus in thinking about it Nan doesn’t like the Clintons. Loves the DiC and his Beard. She also is a fan of the Bern. I think she rightly sees how many folks the party will lose over the super delegate issue
