GOP strategists, donors sign on to anti-Trump super PAC

Just as GOP front-runner Donald Trump continued to shore up delegates, winning several Super Tuesday states, some top Republican strategists and donors began to line up behind a new effort to halt the Trump campaign's momentum.

Jeb Bush's former communications director, Tim Miller, announced Tuesday that he would be joining the Our Principles PAC, an anti-Trump effort.

Miller will focus on opposition research that will go to expanding the PAC's advertising campaigns - including research targeting endorsers and surrogates like Chris Christie.

Other strategists and big name donors - like technology executive Meg Whitman, billionaire Todd Ricketts, and hedge fund manager Paul Singer - have also participated in the Our Principles PAC effort.

Whitman, who was Chris Christie's campaign finance co-chair, joined with Ricketts, Singer, and about 50 others on a call Tuesday afternoon to solicit funds for the super PAC.

Other strategists and big name donors -- like technology executive Meg Whitman, billionaire Todd Ricketts, and hedge fund manager Paul Singer -- have also participated in the Our Principles PAC effort, according to a report by the New York Times and confirmed by CBS News.

A source with knowledge of the call told CBS News that the thinking behind was to stop Trump on March 15 with sustained, cohesive messaging.

Slimy bass turds. I won’t forget. I’m writing down names.

I say if we don't cash in those name-chits by years end, we do not deserve the title "American".

It shouldn’t be "GOPe: We’ll support the nominee unless it’s Trump".

Okay, but what does that have to do with this article?

QUOTE “GOP strategists, donors sign on to anti-Trump super PAC” UNQUOTE

Everything. GOP strategists and donors sign on to anti-Trump super pac”.

Look, if you don’t like Trump, say so. Me? I’m fine with Trump or Cruz. It matters not to me. But I’m also for fairness. Trump is on the downside of it here. He committed to them, they aren’t committing to him. Seems unfair.

That’s just me.

Not so sure about that Laz.
The French revolution worked out horribly for the French.
See what shape they’re in now?
It all goes back to their revolution where yesterday’s Darlings are fed to the executioner today.

Better what the patriots did at the end of our revolution.
Made dang sure the Tories picked up and left because there was no future for them here.
You only need to kill a few and the rest get the idea.

Yes, and???? I still don't see what that has to do with the "loyalty oath". Trump is not the nominee. They don't want him to be the nominee, and are going to try to stop him. That is not a violation of any "loyalty oath".

He committed to them, they aren’t committing to him.

They didn't commit to supporting him in the primaries, and we ARE still in the primaries. So I don't see how this is unfair.

This is starting to look like Gen. Mitsuru Ushijima’s last stand for Japan on Okinawa in WW II.

The RINOs should be told that Ushijima committed ritual sepukku. (Seppuku “stomach- or abdomen-cutting,” is a form of Japanese ritual suicide by disembowelment.)

“We need to bring back the French Revolution.”

Why get so complex? Playing Whack-a-mole will get the job done.

Paul Singer, hedge fund manager and leading gay activist---Rubio backer and now anti-Trump super pac contributor---amazing how just a little bit of research and things make so much sense.

Todd Ricketts---his sister Laura is gay rights activist, member of Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame and a variety of other awards and positions.

Cruz collects all that money from those gay billionaire hoteliers in New York City, Rubio from the Singer fellow, now all join together as gay activists against Donald Trump.

I'm detecting a pattern here, like maybe the anti-gay marriage etc bs of Trump's opponents are pandering to gays and gay money men and women...

In the interest of full disclosure, shouldn’t this superpac be called “Gays Against Trump”?

You know what? I’ve gotten to the point that it is far more important to kill the GOP-Establishment than ANYTHING else. Even the fight against Hillary.

Some people say we barely survived an Obama presidency.

I assert that we DID NOT SURVIVE IT.

America looks NOTHING like it did 10, 20, 30, 40 years ago. We embrace pure evil (abortion), we embrace pure madness (transgenderism and gay superiority), we embrace pure racism (black lives matter but white ones don’t), we embrace pure tyranny (attacks on every BoR Amendment).

So people who tell me we need to vote (whatever) to save America are on a fools errand. There is no America to save.

What we CAN do, is BUILD A NEW AMERICA. That will require the complete removal of the GOP Elitists. Trump will ensure that, whether or not he is ultimately elected. Then, armed with a TRUE opposition party, perhaps in a cycle or two we can elect a President that will begin the arduous task of recreating America.

I agree with everything you are saying. I wish more folks could see past the nightly news to see what is at stake here.

I wish someone would set up some sort of Trump pac...Since he is not taking money from supporters, they could donate to it so there would be some balance and there would be pro-Trump money...for candidate who support him...and ads that refute the lies.

Oh and isn’t Singer that the gay hedge fund guy that Cruz met with?
