For decades, the editorial page of The New York Times has served as the propaganda arm of the Democratic Party. But in a sign of the left’s panic over Donald Trump, the Times has moved beyond pushing an agenda to becoming a political hack, dirty tricks and all.
That’s the only reasonable conclusion to draw from the fishy aftermath of a Trump meeting with the edit board. The meeting happened in early January, but only on the eve of Super Tuesday did word spread about something the leading Republican candidate supposedly said in an off-the-record segment.
Buzzfeed suggested that an audiotape reveals Trump “secretly” walking back some of his most forceful immigration positions. The online news outlet reported that the recording has “reached near-mythical status at the Times” and that “some” people there believe the contents “could deal a serious blow” to Trump if they were made public.

I don’t remember them ever having any to begin with.
We should wait to see how this plays out. By now we all now Trump is very smart at this stuff. He is great at strategy and he might have said whatever he said deliberately. He may now be waiting for the right time to have NYT use it.
He may have said something that helps himself with Latinos and doesn’t hurt himself with his base. Myself I could settle for something less than deportation. Something that included the wall, no more sanctuary cities, deport those in prison or commits crimes while still illegal, no more anchor babies, mandated to use english and no more illegal immigration.
If he said something along those lines, his foes might be wishing they hadn’t ask for the tape to be released.
We all know that the New York Times is a lying piece of bull excrement...
So, why did Donald Trump sit down with them for an ‘off the record interview?’
Bet you ten bucks that Trump has the NY Times on his doorstep every morning.

If what you say, and hope, is true, Donald should demand that the tape be released at once.
Right now,it’s doing him damage.
I’d be okay with the stance you outlined if we could believe Trump. I don’t. He has a pattern of lying and changing his stances frequently.
If he admitted to the things you would be okay with, he still lied to get votes by promising far more grandiose things.

Don’t listen to Beck— just checking the looney barometer. Able to separate the wheat (the history stuff he did was good, especially on Holodomor, Bonhoffer, and the actual spectrum of national socialism as being.... LEFTIST and commies further Left).
With all of that, for beck to call conservatives “brownshirts” is beyond my ability to take. The man is a mental case physiologically, and a creature of the media— the “dance” he did with O’Reilly for a while and the libertarian Teller “comedian” tells me he is several bricks shy of a full flatbed. that coupled with the balloons at the border, the ghandi crapola and “we are all one” Dr. Bronner stuff— all in the mix.
The worry I have is how many are so easily led by this clown, who imho is being “run” by the LDS (seriously— they are the ones who happened to “rehab” him— it could have been some other sect, like scientology — same looney result).

“I wouldn’t think you would need to be very “quick” to realize that going into a recorded interview with 30 newspaper guys and part of the interview news and on the record and part of the interview, where the real news that you were telling the voters one thing and that you intend to do something else, was to be off the record. It got leaked, Surprise, Surprise. This doesn’t make The Donald appear to be very quick, Presidential, honest, truthful, etc. And then there are those who chant build the wall, deport the illegals, they all lie but Trump, that are defending Trump who was there to get in bed with the NYT.”

Well, at least two courts have already ruled Cruz is qualified, including one in Chicago.
It doesn’t matter. This needs to go to the Supreme Court. Most of these judges aren’t qualified to rule on this issue. IF they think they are - they sure don’t’ know the Constitution, or the intent of the founding fathers.
If Trump doesn’t agree with the courts ruling that Cruz is qualified, those who think the court is wrong has the burden of appealing. Really, you think someone who wins in court should have to appeal the lower court’s decision?
It happens all the time. Lower courts get overturned.
The New York Times don’t need no stinking ethics!
It would be surprising if Trump went in to NYT without his guard up. I could see him laying a trap for them. If this is what happened I would expect Trump to ask for the release of the transcript after demand for is has reached a fever pitch.
He’d wait til his opponents for the nomination and in the media and the establishment to commit themselves foaming at the mouth. Then release it and it turn out to be nothing near what they were criticizing him about and actually boosting him up and taking them down.
HA HA HA HA They said ethics and the New York Times in the same sentence !!!!!!!
