True. And the GOP will never win again and they will lose house and senate if they do that.

Yep. The problem is they don't care.

I read an article this morning likening the Republican party to the basketball team that always played the Harlem Globetrotters. Like the Globetrotters, the Dems need another party/team to make things look legit and the Pubbies are just that party. They get power and money so they are satisfied being the losers. As long as they get to pretend they are our betters they will kneel to the democrats.

If it ends up being a brokered convention, we’ll only have Trump to blame, since he obstinately and selfishly refuses to drop out and throw his support to Ted Cruz.

True. The media would hate Cruz more than Trump too. So Cruz has GOPe and LibMedia hating him bigtime.

That’s why I like him. Every election conservatives are told to compromise with the candidate and they’ll win. But they lose. This year we can reverse that demand the GOP back a conservative. When they don’t everything will be clear and the conservatives will need to start a new party (or hijack the democrats :-) ). GPO needs to go away at that point.

Trump leads by 90 Delegates. 316-226 = 90 Trump will win New York, Florida, California... Game over and thanks for playing.

The goal is getting a majority, not a plurality. And the last poll out of California had Cruz ahead of Trump. I'm a Royals fan. The game is never over until it's over.

I think they were saying he wouldn’t get 300 last night. Meaning in the elections last night not totals. But fox news gave Trump good press last night saying it was a very good night. Not crazy good with 300+ but very good nonetheless.

"However, it was not a Trump blow out. In fact, Trump under performed."

Wait a minute. Cruz has been my first pick since this thing started but let us be real. Cruz was supposed to dominate in the South and he won 1, Texas and took Alaska and Oklahoma and that is it. Trump took the rest except for Rubio's home ground plus Vt. and Mass. If anyone under performed it is Cruz I am sad say.

I live in the heart of the East Texas oil field. And I know a lot of blue collar Democrats who are all in for Trump both now and in November. These are people whose families have voted Democrat for generations. Including for Barack Obama. I don’t know if that is universal but it is certainly going on here.

Money isn’t the only thing people pay with. There is power and favors that can be traded.

I see them more as the Cleveland Browns (or any Cleveland sports team) [yes I’m a Cleveland fan so spare me the jokes—I’ve heard them all].

They just don’t know how to win. Like a dog chasing a car...they wouldn’t know what to do with it if they caught it.

Anyhow, Trump leads by 90 Delegates now.

Thus, he expanded his lead over the last 24 hours.
************************************************

Yup, by less than 20 delegates. He came out of Super Tuesday by winning only 19 delegates more than Cruz. He is going to have to do much better than that going forward, or he won’t get to 1237.

I don’t care who you run, you’re not going to change the culture in 1 election. The country isn’t where Cruz is right now. The moral rot in the country is real and I don’t think he’ll win. That’s just my opinion

I do not see Cruz having a route to win the nomination. I only see him as a person who will allow the GOPe to stay in control.

Teump started this revolution. Cruz could have pulled out a while back, given his is support to Trump and the question of the GOPe staying in control would be mute. Cruz is only viable to a very limited audience. Trump has energized people to try and change politics. He may fail but I will always give him credit for trying. I will never forgive the GOPe and Cruz for their undermining of the efforts. If Cruz surprises me and is the nominee I will hold my nose and support the GOP. If it is not Trump or Cruz then I will vote for Hillary, the Democratic part Senate candidate and the Democratic house candidate. At that point there are no options.

True, Cruz was supposed to dominate the south 6 weeks ago. There isn’t anyone that thought that lately, including Cruz.

The fact is, it’s not about the states. It’s about the delegates, and Trump under performed. He will end up winning 17-19 delegates more than Cruz did last night.

As a Cruz supporter, I’m not sure I buy the closed primary narrative. Have we seen any exits polls that shows Trump not winning the self identified Republicans in those open primary states?

I suspect give Trump’s margin of victory in most of those states that he won the registered Republican vote in those states as well, by a smaller margin, of course.

“It looks as if Trump will not get the required number of delegates to win a first round ballot at the Convention. Cruz has no chance of getting that number. Once the first round ballot is done, and nobody gets the number to win, then the delegates are free to vote for whomever they choose. The Convention will then be “Brokered” and the RNC has brought up Romney to then run and win the nomination. That is why we have been seeing Romney lately in the news.

Two or three days ago McConnell said they will do anything to not let Trump win and they hate Cruz as much or more. McConnell said he doesn’t mind if Hillary wins so that means all the RNC has to do is ensure trump or Cruz do not the enough delegates for the first round win.

The scumbag RNC seems to think they can just go along like they have been with Obama, except there is a possibility that the next President will be able to select up to four Supreme Court Justices. They cannot filibuster that many nominations so they will eventually let Un-American leftists onto the Supreme Court and our Constitution will be gone.”

What you said here, really has me concerned, because I can see it happening. My only question would be is where would a GOP-chosen, last-minute candidate like Romney, find enough delegates after missing so many states?

FRiend I can’t speculate on that any more accurately then you can.

I can’t pick the candidate, you can’t pick the candidate....let’s hope the GOPe doesn’t pull any BS because I would really be tempted to sit the election out.

Cruz or Trump is fine with me, I’m not going to worry at this point over things I cave no control over.

You have to admit, it’s been fascinating to watch this all unfold.

If it weren’t for Trump, we would be discussing our massive displeasure over Bush vs. Clinton.

Even if Cruz does eek this out, we can still be thankful for Trump.

I wish more would step back and analyze this more objectively instead of the incessant crap that’s hurled around here non stop. (not you)

yes it was. It has been trending liberal, the culture is rotten. I challenge you to find 5 tv shows since 2008 that don’t have “cool” gay characters. I’m not the enemy. I don’t subscribe to liberalism. I just see that Trump isn’t going to win and the result of a brokered convention won’t be a Ted Cruz Presidency. Moreover, to me, results matter and these fools who tell us how conservative they are and how this is all about principal watched and accepted the President turning the court completely liberal. Obamacare is the law, “gay marriage” is legal the culture is changed by immigrants who refuse to assimilate, good jobs are gone, innovation in this country seems almost non existent. You may blame Obama but I don’t lay this all at his feet. The Congress and his members went along with everything he did. The only thing they fought him on was gun legislation. I know that Cruz tried to stop Obamacare but he failed miserably. You don’t get as your reward for failing, the highest office in the land. So I see it this way. Cruz isn’t going to get a majority and if Trump doesn’t then what happens next? Will Cruz be the candidate that comes away as the nominee in this scenario? Nope, and neither will Carson. Those are the outsider choices (and I personally don’t see Cruz as an outsider). So either you get Trump or another insider with 4 years for the GOPe to ensure that no insurgency candidate could ever win again. Trump is the only chance to destroy the GOPe and the political elites as whole. That’s how I see it
