Morning Joe, in the person of Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski and Willie Geist, took a victory lap this morning on the occasion of Donald Trump's impressive Super Tuesday victories. The theme of the opening half-hour: we told you so. Their point: from the day he announced his candidacy, the Morning Joe team took Trump seriously and said he could be a real factor. In contrast, the poobahs of politics and media made fools of themselves predicting Trump's imminent demise.
In an amusing spike-the-ball display, Morning Joe went to the length of producing a montage of its greatest hits, juxtaposing clips of MJ members being respectful of Trump's chances with clips of various talking heads writing him off. Scarborough repeatedly emphasized that it was not a matter of rooting for or preferring Trump--to the contrary he said he had been a Jeb supporter and now leans Kasich--but simply seeing things for what they were and are.

Morning Joe produces video montage to brag how they were right and others wrong about Trump’s potential.
Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
I could have sworn all the talk prior to the elections was, outside of Texas, Trump would sweep Super Tuesday. But that didn’t happen.
Love it how intelligent people still entertain their Stop Trump fantasies.
If it was any one else, we’d be saying today this race is over.
The new GOP establishment/MSM meme is - why Trump fell short of an outright sweep and its far from over!
They’ll never understand his appeal to the unwashed masses.
Joe and Mika aren’t right too often, but they nailed this one.
Seems to me winning seven states is a sweep.
Of course, one has to belittle Trump’s victory because well, it was undeserving.
And we’ll hear more about that moving forward, that two thirds of the party doesn’t want Trump and that Super Tuesday didn’t decide the race.
The optics can be redefined to make Trump look small and its already well underway.
Scarborough still has a long way to go to recover from his over the handle bars editorial against Trump in the Washington Post on Monday.
The ultimate Stop Trump fantasy involves herding his voters into reeducation camps.
Don’t think they aren’t considering that.
This montage proves that Morning Joe always has a guest with a lisp.
“Seems to me winning seven states is a sweep.”
But there were 11 states up for grabs. I thought the definition of a sweep was winning ALL of the contests.
“Trump would sweep Super Tuesday. But that didnt happen.”
So taking seven out of ten isn’t a sweep? You’re dilusional! Sure you aren’t related to Dick Durbin?
“So taking seven out of ten isnt a sweep? Youre dilusional!”
So, in an NBA or MLB playoff series, if a team wins the series 4-1, that’s considered a sweep to you?
From a sports analogy a ‘sweep’ means the team won all the games against the opponent— like a 4-0 World Series sweep.
Trump did not sweep but he dominated the field.
Winning your home state by the lowest in Party history isn’t good.
I think he IS Dick Durbin.
By your yardstick of ‘Sweep’ Cruz would be considered an big Loser.
“By your yardstick of Sweep Cruz would be considered an big Loser.’
I never claimed Cruz was the winner last night. I simply said Trump didn’t sweep it.
“From a sports analogy a sweep means the team won all the games against the opponent”
Unfortunately for you, this isn’t a sporting event, unless you count mud wrestling!
Joe’s brother has been backing Trump all along... I suspect that’s what gave Joe a clue...
Other DC elites might not have a connection to anyone outside of beltway elites. Could also explains why elites are so out of touch on other issues.
Years ago when AOL started the concept of mass political chatrooms Joe Kennedy was said to have stopped in on one and was stunned the fawning response he received within his own circles did not exist in America as a whole. None of us had much respect for him or his much vaunted name.
Our current elites are in the same position.
Bitter much?
