Kristol Lays Out Strategy to Give White House to Hillary: Trump ‘Shouldn’t Win’
Breitbart ^ | 3/2/2016 | John Nolte

Posted on 03/02/2016 7:36:25 AM PST by lodi90

In order to defeat Donald Trump, The Weekly Standard’s Bill Kristol admits he is prepared to hand Hillary Clinton the Oval Office. On Wednesday’s “Morning Joe,” the Republican Establishment leader laid out his plot to deprive Trump of the 50% of delegates necessary to secure the nomination. From there, the idea is to go into a brokered convention and cut a kamikaze deal that awards enough delegates to an “acceptable” candidate (who will have won far fewer votes, states, and delegates than Trump).

The problem with the Establishment brokering a behind-closed-door deal that hands the nomination to a Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)79% , is that the backlash against the Republican Party is almost certain to hand Hillary Clinton the presidency.

If a bunch of rich, angry GOP elites rob Trump supporters of their victory, the blowback will result in so many voters staying home in November, Hillary wins. As NBC’s Chuck Todd pointed out last night, at this point the delegate math is such that the only way to stop Trump is through this scheme at the convention.

As you’ll see below, that outcome is preferable to Kristol, and by extension it is safe to assume that outcome is also fine with the rest of the Republican Establishment.

What makes you think if the GOPe wins this time around, they won’t win next time around? Either we unite behind the most powerful outsider (Trump) and have a fair chance of taking out the elites, or we lose our party entirely.

There won’t be another time. They will make doubly sure next time around there won’t be an outsider challenger. All we will get if we don’t get rid of these insiders, is full MIssissippi forever.

This is our last gasp chance to save ourselves. And you will live to regret this if you refuse to open your eyes and take a long hard look at reality. Forget Ted Cruz, he is NEVER going to be the nominee, he just does not have the broad appeal you think he has, plus he is not constitutionally eligible. If we willingly compromise the constitution like this to elect him, what moral grounds do we have to stand up to left in the future when the enemies of freedom again attempt to compromise the constitution? How can Ted Cruz possibly stand up for the constitution, when according to the constitution itself, he would be an illegitimate president?

Whose eyes? In the eyes of the RINO traitors, the ones who stabbed us in the back? Wonder where he got that type of idea to demonize the establishment? Maybe the November traitors.

I didn’t bring up his religion. Why not? Because it’s not relevant to me. Yet one of the trumpsters did. I suppose they can see why it matters that a man they’re attacking is Jewish. I don’t. What if he were a Presbyterian, a follower of John Calvin, as Trump says he is, would it be mentioned? I don’t so.

Nobody beats Trump at favoring big government. After all, he’s partnered so much with the Democrats and with governments to get money. He’s also a big baby killer, but that’s no longer a conservative position supported, I suppose, for Trumpsters. And it used to be most people wouldn’t back a Clinton pal, but it works for you. Hey, for you, better a Clinton pal than a neo-con for you.

“…if the GOP-e stabs him in the back like that…”

Here is what Cruz said to Steponallofus yesterday in an interview:

“If we unify, head-to-head, [i.e. Rubio, Kasich, Carson] our campaign beats Donald soundly. And for everyone concerned about the best interest of the Republican Party, if Donald is the nominee, in all likelihood, your former boss Hillary Clinton becomes the president.”

http://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/scott-whitlock/2016/03/02/ted-cruz-mocks-stephanopoulos-hillary-your-former-boss

It would seem that Cruz lets a little bit out of the bag here. He has been co-opted by “The Party.” He is looking out for what he perceives as the “best interest of the Republican Party,” not the best interest of the American people.

Since you are seeing that “the Republican Party” is plotting to stab Trump in the back, maybe you can well imagine that “the bosses” will stab Cruz in the back once Trump is out of the way.

I think that is exactly what will happen.

Posters on FreeRepublic have been saying this for weeks. National Review writers (and other establishment types) were only pushing Cruz to try to take out Trump. They have been planning all along to take out Cruz once Trump is gone.

I will be clear here. We who have been supporting Trump are not cultists, we’re not idiots, we’re not liberals, we’re not racists, we’re not KKK members, we’re not fascists, we’re not “Trumpanzees.” We are simply patriotic Americans who understand how the “uni-party” has stacked the deck and we perceive Trump as the best means to take out the GOP-e segment of the uni-party.

If, by some chance Cruz is in fact nominated I might be persuaded to vote for him, but with each passing day I think it less likely that he would survive “the Party” process, and with each passing day I wonder where the loyalties of Cruz really lie.

Bill Kristol is just being a dolt. He needs to get over himself and support Donald Trump who almost certainly will be our party’s nominee. These same guys who are putting up such fuss about Trump totally expected us conservatives to support squishes like Mitt Romney and John McCain (which for better or for worse we did) but they won’t support the Republican voters’ choice for president even if they don’t like him? Come on. What goes around, comes around.

Mike Gallagher recently made a point to a caller to his show who didn’t want to vote for Trump in the general election that even if Trump did not turn out to be a staunch conservative president, the sum total of Trump’s presidency would then be no different that what we would get with Hillary. Since we already know what a lying criminal Hillary and her cronies are, why would the GOPe want her in office rather than Trump if they think the policies of the two might boil down to the same things?

I know the answer to my question - the GOPe cares more about preserving the status quo of the GOPe than it does about what an awful president criminal Hillary would be for the country.

The Weekly Standard and a lot of Republicans and so-called “conservatives”, as Pat Buchanan said, “would prefer to lose to Clinton than win with Trump.”

Sadness but not despair - this is a movement which, among other things, contains the seeds of ousting career politicians, maybe permanently, if a term-limit constitutional amendment follows.

In the meantime either the GOPe goes or the GOP goes, the left going to the Dems the true Right becoming a party that hopefully adheres to constitutional limited central government, state sovereignty, and individual freedom.

They’re talking about running Romney. Not exactly a conservative mainstay.

Vitally more important than getting in a pure conservative is getting in someone who is willing and able to fight for us and for getting our country out of the grips of the Establishment/globalists!

If you can’t see this than you are either an establishment troll or very very foolish.

Can we get a commitment, right here, right now, on Free Republic, from ALL CRUZERS: "If Cruz fails to get the nomination, and if Trump gets the nomination, I will vote for Trump"

Pretty simple. Cruzers---will you step up and make this pledge, or not?

Trump will run 3rd party.

In the meanwhile Cruz said he would not do such, and would support whomever the American people voted for the GOP nomination including Trump.

Character matters.

Those that say that they will let Hillary win if Trump is the nominee are lying or incredibly stupid. Most likely the former. It is a ruse to move your vote from Trump to anyone else. If they really wanted Hillary to have at least two Supreme Court nominees, they would be direct Hillary supporters and not a supporter of another Republican candidate.

The reason that Kristol is smirking is I don’t think he doesn’t really care if Trump leaves the party with the conservative half of the base. Sure they’d lose some elections in the short term but in the long term they’d be rid of us and finally get the center-left corportist GOPe they really want. At least that’s how he’s war gaming it out in his deluded mind.

Principled Conservative (TM) Cruz has said nothing while Trump is nuclear bombed with false dirty trick accusations. Character matters.

Should be no surprise at all that a career politician and former Bush admin official is playing for GOPe. Sad to see so many good FReepers duped by Cruz.

He and ilk were Democrats — socialists, actually. They jumped to the GOP to take advantage of the opportunities available after the Reagan revolution. He is just going home to Mama.

The rebellion is on!

We're a movement, not an election. Even if Hillary wins we plot to defeat her in four years, and take House and Senate seats in the mean time ...

You should have written:

Yes, I'm a deed cover establishment troll who initially signed up on this site in 1998. My screen name shows a couple of years later. But you've exposed the conspiracy I'm a part of with the "establishment." Yeah, man I'm with the establishment. LOL.

The neoconservatives made the same declaration in 1992 — they would bolt the party if Buchanan won. Party loyalty only applies when their guy wins — and then they demand it of everyone else.
