Kristol Lays Out Strategy to Give White House to Hillary: Trump ‘Shouldn’t Win’
Breitbart ^ | 3/2/2016 | John Nolte

Posted on 03/02/2016 7:36:25 AM PST by lodi90

In order to defeat Donald Trump, The Weekly Standard’s Bill Kristol admits he is prepared to hand Hillary Clinton the Oval Office. On Wednesday’s “Morning Joe,” the Republican Establishment leader laid out his plot to deprive Trump of the 50% of delegates necessary to secure the nomination. From there, the idea is to go into a brokered convention and cut a kamikaze deal that awards enough delegates to an “acceptable” candidate (who will have won far fewer votes, states, and delegates than Trump).

The problem with the Establishment brokering a behind-closed-door deal that hands the nomination to a Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)79% , is that the backlash against the Republican Party is almost certain to hand Hillary Clinton the presidency.

If a bunch of rich, angry GOP elites rob Trump supporters of their victory, the blowback will result in so many voters staying home in November, Hillary wins. As NBC’s Chuck Todd pointed out last night, at this point the delegate math is such that the only way to stop Trump is through this scheme at the convention.

As you’ll see below, that outcome is preferable to Kristol, and by extension it is safe to assume that outcome is also fine with the rest of the Republican Establishment.

The Republican Party has been taken over by liberals.

The so-called “moderates” were Democrat hawks back in the 1960’s. After the McGovern insurgency, where the radicals took over the Democrat Party, the more mainstream members began immigrating to the GOP. They’ve since formed an alliance with the liberal Rockefeller Republicans and now control the Party hierarchy.

That’s why there’s been a conscience effort to out-pander the Democrats over the last few elections; they want to portray themselves as the “competent” party of Big Government. They’ve deceived themselves into thinking they can manage the Leviathan.

But they’re doomed to fail.

First of all thanks for your service. You are not by yourself re how those of us are learning about the reality of our so nobile leaders.

(On the bright side, I’m feeling smarter every time this stuff happens....validates every little nagging doubt I’ve had about the basic honor of those of Our Nobel Leadership Class ever since ‘Nam.)

If Trump has majority, even if not 1237, at convention he will be nominated for POTUS. But he will have to allow establishment to choose his VP.

If you ever had ANY doubts about how TRULY EVIL the establishment GOP is... doubt no more.

Most of us only had suspicions because of the disparity between what is said and what gets done.

It is time for Trump to call the question I think. Someone needs to come forward and put things in order. A senior statesman is needed to ensure the voters that the process is going to be fair, i.e. the winner by votes wins. The situation is going to get dangerous otherwise.

Funny, you could say the same thing about Trump. The difference is that Kristol has been a conservative for quite awhile now, something like 30 years. Whereas with Trump, we have an impostor who hasn’t been a conservative in anything but name and for less than Bruce Jenner has been a woman.

Excellent observation.

I agree with your assessment. The pundits will sit back after a Hillary Clinton election and rave about her shortcomings and moan that if only the right Republican candidate had been nominated, that the nation wouldn’t be in such a sorry position. I can just see the comment sections under their pundit websites agreeing. As long as the golden goose remains in play with these pundits, there will never be any change in the playing fields. They remind me of ghouls who drive by a bloody accident.

Kristol has been a conservative for quite awhile now

He's been a Republican for a while now, that much is true. Unfortunately, he usually sees eye to eye with Chuck Schumer on most issues that count.

The “establishment leader”— Bill Kristol?? What a joke! He presides over a tiny publication that has barely 40-50K subscribers and freebie drive by online lookers. This guy is... quite clearly out of date and out of touch— like karl rove land. A little chicken-hawk war pimp who is the echochamber for the mil-industrial never ending foreign interventions.

But he is saying what his paymasters tell him to say, and they also .... have no clue.

KRISTOL: And [Trump] would still lose the election. And shouldn’t win the election, So, yeah, I agree.

The establishment GOP is totally nuts.

Kristol lost it a long time ago.

A supposed conservative saying Hillary in the White House would be preferable to Trump. IS he trying to destroy the country?

Any GOP reading this Breitbart piece needs to think real hard about this. We need to get behind Trump and NOT LET THIS HAPPEN. Good grief.

The GOP dirty tricks against Trump have already started. I suppose it’s ok if it helps your candidate?

I'm not going to vote for Trump no matter what, but isn't it funny how Trump supporters get upset with the dirty tricks being contemplated against their guy after all the garbage he's spewed? Trump has personally denigrated every Pub candidate so if he starts getting treated the same way I say "what's good for the goose is good for the gander".

How's that KKK endorsement working out for you Trump?

He doesn’t have to. Romney is already organizing it with a sitting GOP U. S. Senator.

No. Trump will win the nomination and the GOP will run someone 3rd party. The mistake they’re making is thinking it will hurt Trump. In fact, the GOP and Dems are so close to each other that a GOP 3rd party virtually guarantees Trump’s victory.

Rush said it yesterday— predicting this. The current comfortable position... the one the demonrats like— is for the RINOs to aid and abet democrat bullcrap, and for them to be “liked” by the media. Kristol is the purveyor of “like” to the Progressive republicans in name only. And we can see them at play right now... honoring their paymasters and being part of the elite.

WHAT true Republican of even center LEFT would say Hillary would be OK? Only the ones who make their living ripping off the people like the “establishment” has been doing for over 50 years. We are NOT playing anymore.

Kristol is a Rubio supporter, right?

We need to start taking out the Governors.
We need to start taking out the Senators.
Run independents with no party allegiance is the only way.

I hope it’s clear to everyone that this has NOTHING to do with any policies that Trump has put forward. So what, he said he would fund Planned Parenthood without abortions. Keep in mind that less than a month ago the GOPe funded Planned Parthood WITH abortions in a 2 trillion dollar budget. This is all about power and control by the elites (Republican & Democrats). If you think giving Ted Cruz more delegates is the way to stop the GOPe you’re wrong. Cruz will clearly throw in with them
