I’m glad she set him straight! I was wondering how the poor mom was eating. it was much to windy to leave them there alone for any time at all!
Male owls have nothing to do with the nest. Once the eggs are laid, Momma depends on him for food until the owlets are fairly old. THEN she’ll do a little hunting herself.
Once in a blue moon, Dad will deliver food to the nest but most of the time, Momma flies up to a tree to retrieve it.
I’m still waiting for that pesky squirrel to be dinner. :-)
