Republican Gov. Dennis Daugaard shocked conservatives Tuesday when he vetoed legislation that would have prohibited students in South Dakota public schools from using opposite-sex restrooms, locker rooms and shower facilities.
The decision is a boon for transgender advocates who lobbied the governor to reject the bill, arguing it was discriminatory and would have harmed the emotional well-being of transgender students.
Proponents of the legislation contended its inappropriate to have adolescent boys and girls showering and changing in the same room.
Do you feel it appropriate for a 13-year-old girl to be exposed to the anatomy of a boy? Or for a boy to be exposed to the anatomy of a girl because of the decisions we make out here?...

Lmao.
I am waiting for the 3 or 4 jocks who ‘jokingly’ claim to be confused and end up going out for the girls basketball or softball team. Then suing when the ‘idiots’ realize where this crap is headed and not have them ‘make’ the team.
Every so often ‘schools etc’ bend over backwards when a female claims a right to play football but I guess until the sport is called MENS Football it is ‘open’ to all students - at least the chance to try out for the team.
The Girls basketball is labeled as such BUT if ‘Johnny’ claims to be a girl he should be able to get around it.
Also would like to see what happens when ‘we’ and other progressive countries try to put ‘he/shes or she/hes’ on a Mens or Womens team in the Olympics.....
If we are going to do this, go all out and ram it home to either get the change
OR
get things back where they belong and write the correct wording legislature to make sure it never happens again.
Still not sure if the American attitude to avoid banning consensual behavior in consenting communities, would be gotten around here.
We’ve fallen to a nadir in the Christianization of this society, but that was also a Caesar-centered view.
If and when a God-centered view takes over, we suddenly will find that a lot of things we wanted to ban under a Caesar-centered view, will almost always cease to happen. Heaven was never meant to be the source of polite smiles; it was meant to be the source of determined grins.
Yeah, and the girls would be grateful.
That proposal would subject every politician to an AUTOMATIC yearly performance review by the voters of THEIR OWN party.
If they get a thumbs down, they would be relieved of their posts immediately.
I bet the vast majority would not stray from the straight and narrow.
Truthfully? My 16 yo daughter and I have had the conversation. You want me to tell you what her initial reaction was?
If we started to ask what in the heaven it could come to, we might be surprised.
We let the dancing devils distract us, and forget quite about the gifts of the giving God.
Exactly!
We’ve met the devil and it’s us.
We don’t really want heaven at this moment, I fear.
That should be the standard. If the dude is post-op and now has a fauxgina, we’ll talk. If he’s still physically male, let’s put a port-a-potty outside for him.
You err in thinking the governor is conservative.
You guys are delusional.
Don’t forget one of South Dakota’s FINEST was...
Tom Daschle...
(who was mentored by a Jew hater).
So you don’t think the REPUBLICAN voters would kick his ass out if they had a chance to give him an up and down vote? If he flunked they (the republican voters) would then pick a replacement.
I don’t know if you read the whole proposal, but we have to stop giving these “employees” of ours a long term, no-fire contract if we are to regain control of our destiny.
Don’t you agree?
It is WAY PAST Claire Wolfe's 'Awkward Phase'.
If we had such a knee jerk world we shortly would have a lot of vacant offices.
We really ought to think hard about what we are asking for, because it’s possible to get it.
There’s been ungodly entanglements going on well before this. I think we have now gotten past the point where we can flaunt our supposed Christianization, and it’s hurting our pride.
We should never have been counting on Caesar to keep, e.g., prayers in school. That was an inherently unstable situation.
Republican doesn’t mean a damn thing. It certainly doesn’t mean conservative. And they’re busy perverting the meaning of that word, too. Isaiah 5:20 “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.”
It sure doesn’t mean wholesome, Christian, or responsible.
These jerks are the reason the outsiders had better win this election, why the Scalia replacement damn well better be made by a non-establishment candidate.
This governor has let down so many people in his state. Their anguish is palpable. I’m sure it reaches to heaven.
Father, may Your justice bring upon his the due penalty of his lawlessness. Amen. Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus.
Aw yes, but time is passing.
Lawlessness of failing to ban a community from sinning in a certain consensual manner. Lawlessness of failing to pull out the box of band-aids once more for what has long obviously become a cancer problem.
I hope you will forgive the Lord if He isn’t quite as exercised about this aspect of the problem as you are.
