Republican Gov. Dennis Daugaard shocked conservatives Tuesday when he vetoed legislation that would have prohibited students in South Dakota public schools from using opposite-sex restrooms, locker rooms and shower facilities.
The decision is a boon for transgender advocates who lobbied the governor to reject the bill, arguing it was discriminatory and would have harmed the emotional well-being of transgender students.
Proponents of the legislation contended its inappropriate to have adolescent boys and girls showering and changing in the same room.
Do you feel it appropriate for a 13-year-old girl to be exposed to the anatomy of a boy? Or for a boy to be exposed to the anatomy of a girl because of the decisions we make out here?...

Like the Olympic diver, Greg Loose-anus?
Well, the Gaystapo already threatened to boycott their state...plus all the homosexual-friendly Milleneals, who’ve made this threat known in Indiana, plus they’re threatening Georgia. I hope somebody stands up to them. Maybe, now, when people start moving to protect their kids and spouses, he’ll change his mind.
I wonder if he can be recalled or impeached for gross negligence in failure to protect the young citizens of his state.
Who would have thought that Gov. Dennis Daugaard is a perve!
Present company excepted, of course :)
Ok, then when word got back to Mom and Dad, I'd get my a$$ kicked. Dad would be laughing, but he'd still lay into me.
“Unbelievable, even this Republican is on the trannie train.”
And a train it is! It’s steaming full throttle to what amounts to the worst prison environment one could possibly imagine; except for the fact that there are no bars or walls to separate the criminals of all descriptions from us, our children and our families. Our government is condemning us to live in an unsafe environment and that’s an understatement. No one is going to be safe from this plague of all that’s unsavory, unholy and dispicable in any moral or reasonable terms. Anything goes and those who object will be fed to the beasts as further appeasement. It’s time to either fight or be trampled and watch it happen to your children and families as well.
Being threatened by the ACLU.
What about the girls that want to go hang out in they boys’ locker rooms and bathrooms?
It is a bad idea no matter how you slice it or dice it.
It’s never an utterly risk free situation anywhere. The best we can do is mitigate the risks.
Boys teasing girls who choose to do that, are probably messing with bull dykes in the making (not just tomboys). What boy would want to get humiliated before his peers? They’d probably observe some kind of detente.
Somebody asked me about that regarding Gov. Nikki Haley in SC. Unfortunately, South Carolina and South Dakota are not two states that have a provision for recall. Impeachment is the only legal method for removal.
Yeah, dads have a sense of humor.
A few years ago, I spent a month working at an RAAF base. The latrines generally had on one side a few sinks, a few stalls with sit-down commodes, and a giant trough running the entire length of the other side. I haven't seen such a facility in America for decades, but it seemed fairly common in Aus. Even some civilian facilities weren't too different. It's efficient, if nothing else.
