No. You don’t get anywhere in politics nowadays without rising to the top of a political party, and Washington didn’t believe in political parties.

No. He would be to the right of Cruz, and if Cruz isn’t “electable” by a lot of estimates, why would Washington?

Yep. George would publicly speak of his faith and most Freepers would call him Elmer Gantry, Jim Bakker, or Ted Haggard and mock his false teeth and other superficial things.

No, but have you seen or heard anyone like him recently? He’d get my vote.

White, owned Negro slaves, believed government existed to protect God given rights, prayed in public. I don’t think so.

Running today? No. He is not a natural born citizen.

actually the colonists who were there before the war were grandfathered in as qualified to hold offices.

Reagan didn’t run on amnesty.

Reagan didn’t run on amnesty.

No he didn't but fortunately for him, he was in his second term.

But I digress, would you have voted for him knowing what you know now? If you're true to your alleged principles, you probably wouldn't have.........

By now, George Washington would have shot most of the political class as traitors during a time of war.

Amnesty was Reagan’s second biggest mistake. I really didn’t like Reagan but for different reason than yo might think. It took a long time fro me to come around and accept that he was a great President even though I voted for him twice.

1) GW was sincere.

2) GW was one of the wealthiest men in the colonies and he would have self-funded.

He might not have said those exact words, but his farewell address directly stated that the U.S. should avoid permanent alliances. He also did not honor the U.S. treaty with France. He CLEARLY was not a fan of getting involved with other countries’ affairs but he was also against anyone interfering in our affairs as well. His statements and words speak for themselves, he wasn’t a fan of entanglements.

He never used the word “entanglements” notwithstanding. And no president used the phrase “foreign entanglements”.

No he didn’t. But he still ACTED as if he didn’t. I never claimed any prez used “foreign entanglements” either.

I’m not trying to be a knowitall either. Just looking for accuracy. Have a good one.
