There were several big companies on Camino Ramon that were the source of material for Adams. They were all implementing the same business fads at the same time. Pacific Bell was probably the worst at it.

The infamous Leadership Development fad AKA LDS (or more frequently LSD) was a favorite object of derision. The DSSD (Data Structured System Design) was foisted upon us too. My cohort in crime, David St Pierre, was a big help in pushing PacBell toward TCP/IP (upgrading from our uucp network). Some of the network engineers were trying to force the 7 level ISO garbage on us. I have yet to see broadly interoperating versions of FTAM.

I don't miss dodging the attack swans that hung around near the entrance of the San Ramon building.
