Funny he stayed on for a bit while doing Dilbert.

He said there was a little "tension" in the office due to the lampooning being so obvious to fellow employees. His manager finally had the "fish or cut bait" discussion. PacBell or your cartooning career. Adams decided he liked the cartoon world better. That was a good decision in the long term. PacBell IT was decimated by some hired guns who sought to cut costs by eliminating large swatch of the department. Based on my damage assessment, I decided it was time for me to move on too. The 5th largest IT department on earth was shredded. There was no compelling reason to stay. My current employer hand carried an offer. It was an easy decision.

could you identify any of the characters he had put into his cartoons as other employees? was it obvious or were they just generic employee types?
