Sessions is big on getting illegal immigration under control. I think it’s mainly that issue that drove his endorsement.

I think he’s a little on the vain side. It’s probably been hard for him to age, knowing his looks were going.

He was a very attractive man in his day, but he does look a little Ommpa Loompa-ish now.

The interesting thing to me is that Alabama has a lot of Mexicans. They practically do all the construction work there and have put a lot of people out of work because they will work under the table.

But that’s all happened on Sessions’ watch.

Near the area where my sister lives they have practically destroyed whole neighborhoods. But on the other side of that, they work. And you have the blacks who don’t and won’t.

I used to be a one-issue voter on abortion and then I met this woman who won’t even go to church because people in the church don’t go protest at the abortion clinics.

She has 11 kids. She’s pro-life. But she and her husband will not darken the door of a church.

That got me thinking on that.

However, I on the issue of Trump, I guess I’ve come to the conclusion that while he has charisma, he isn’t really a conservative.

Among the Trumpies, if you are not worshiping the ground The Donald walks on, that automatically makes you a “RINO.” It doesn’t matter if you’ve been a staunch conservative your whole life; opposing Trump makes you “GOPe.”

My problem is that I don’t think Trump is conservative enough. And I’m not sure if I can trust Cruz.

But the Trump juggernaut really leaves one with little choice.

Vain doesn’t explain it. He looks like he was walking past the Cheetos factory when it exploded. That he doesn’t have anyone to tell him that all this is absolutely bizarre is pretty darn weird, considering.

You’re right, Trump is not a conservative. Cruz is, and I trust him. I plan to vote for Cruz. We do have a choice. We do not have to vote for Trump.

Then why did his wife work for the CFR?

They don’t really exhibit conservative values to me.

I thank you sincerely for the introduction. Brooks may come around, he may not, but he is going to have to cope with a political climate that is very different from the one that propelled him to office. Best to you.

It seems you are absolutely right. The ironic thing is that Trump may be a Republican in name only.

GOPe(stablishment) seems to be the meme of the year. The definition seems to be nothing more than opposing Trump (as you said).

Kruschev came up with the term “cult of personality” after he came to power as he criticized the excesses under Stalin.

I think the term applied to Peron in Argentina. After Peron’s death, “right-wing Peronistas” clashed with “left-wing Peronistas” in the streets. I laughed at the time at foolish Argentinians who supported a man without knowing what he stood for.

Trump has the Cult of Personality. That may not be new in America, FDR and Obama come to mind. But it is new in the Republican party IMO.

Yes, a lot of Republicans admire Ronald Reagan, but they can point to specific priorities that distinguished him from liberal Democrats. These priorities were conservative before, during, and after Reagan’s 8 years in office. So it wasn’t a cult of personality for Reagan. It was an adherence to long-standing conservative beliefs, values and priorities.

"Then you've got the public policy issues – where Donald Trump is a notorious flip-flopper on a myriad of different issues," he said. "It is only a little bit of an exaggeration to say that Donald Trump has taken virtually every position – liberal, moderate, conservative or otherwise on every public policy issue that exists. Nobody knows what Donald Trump would do with any degree of certainty because Donald Trump is all over the map on every issue."

Mo, you are a good man, but you haven't been paying attention to these issues that Trump has been very consistent on...

No one more conservative than Trump on building the Wall.

No one more conservative than Trump on deporting ALL ILLEGALS.

No one more conservative than Trump on stopping hemorrhaging Trillion dollars EVERY year from American economy in foreign trade deficits.

No one more conservative than Trump on stopping Trillions spent in middle-east wars with borrowed money from China, Japan & EU.

No one more conservative than Trump on taking better care of Vets.

No one more conservative than Trump on stopping influx of UN-Vetted Muslims entering the country.

What are you going to do, Mo Brooks, vote for Hillary?
