If he had stayed with that he would have been in good standing, but like many that like to run a bluff he had to keep talking. He contradicted himself and then refused to denounce white supremacist groups.
Trump has had an easy ride much like McCain the press love the maverick till he is against their real candidate. This is but the first of what I expect to be many attacks and well made ones on djt’s insatiably of story.

Yes Duke did not use the word “ endorse”. In fact he said he did NOT endorse but then he went on to say how many issues he agreed with Trump on and that he hopes everyone votes for Trump. That He, Duke, would be voting for Trump.
I wish he had shut up after he said he did not endorse Trump.
They said he didn’t endorse him, but instead encouraged everyone to vote for Trump. What’s the difference?
Also Trump didn’t renounce any KKK endorsements. But to be fair I think Trump never listens to anyone after the first sentence so all he remembers is David Duke and didn’t hear KKK. But that’s a whole other issue.
BTW: the issue isn’t that he endorsed Trump as much as it’s Trump didn’t say he doesn’t want a KKK racist endorsement. But like I said I don’t think he listens close enough to hear what is being said. He’d rather hear himself speak.
Trump was flinging crap on everyone. When he attacked Cruz because Trump lost in Iowa he soured in my mind. I realized he’s a big baby sore loser. And he’s a sore winner too.
Did I say that he had not.
But that he did makes his self contradictory statements later seem all the more a self inflicted wound.
His claim that he had a bad era piece was poor at best as he did not say.. “pardon could you repeat that “ but instead saying “Honestly, I don’t know David Duke. I don’t believe I’ve ever met him. I’m pretty sure I didn’t meet him. And I just don’t know anything about it”
Which is bad but not as bad as saying of white supremacists
“Just so you understand, I don’t know anything about David Duke, okay? I don’t know anything about what you’re even talking about with white supremacy or white supremacists. So I don’t know, did he endorse me or what’s going on,”
“Well, I have to look at the group. I mean, I don’t know what group you’re talking about. You wouldn’t want me to condemn a group that I know nothing about. I have to look. If you would send me a list of the groups I will do research on them and certainly I would disavow if I thought there was something wrong. But you may have groups in there that are totally fine and it would be very unfair. So give me a list of the groups and I’ll let you know”
The question was simple it did not ask about groups at random it was quite specific.
As for the thin grule that David Duke did not “endorce” DJT. Here is what he did say.
“When this show’s over, go out, call the Republican Party, but call Donald Trump’s headquarters, volunteer,” Duke said. “They’re screaming for volunteers. Go in there, you’re gonna meet people who are going to have the same kind of mindset that you have.”
That is like saying Japan did not declare War on Dec 7, they just bombed Pearl Harbor.
Yes, because optics and tactics are just are not as important as feelings.

65% of Republicans do not trust djt enough to vote or cacus for him, the democrat side I am sure is far worse. Or are those that do not like trump no longer “the people”
