The establishment can see the writing on the wall. Trump is now facing who guys who have almost no votes and two other guys who are both fatally flawed for the general election. Without something drastic happening Trump will almost surely be the nominee. The real panic will come on Wednesday if Super Tuesday goes the way the polls predict.

Still, I am surprised they would go back to Mitt. I am surprised also that Mitt would want to go along with the plan. But old dreams die hard. And these guys are willing to play hard and dirty.

It might be Romney pipe-dreaming, but I think this is just wishful thinking/writing.

Romney had a chance to jump in early. Rumors circulate. He eventually said "no". Months later, rumors again circulated that Romney might jump into the fray. He eventually said "no". Now, rumors are again circulating.

Whether by Romney or romneybots, these are little more than trial balloons. The first one dropped like a rock. The second one dropped like an even bigger rock. This one will likely face the same fate. Romney is the guy who lost to the guy who lost to Obama in 2008. Romney is the guy who lost to Obama in 2012. There is no way to spin that into Romney now being the go-to guy.
