Chris Rock’s schizophrenic Oscar monologue: Slaps Jada Smith, calls Hollywood racist, bashes cops

Comedian Chris Rock gave what has to be both the most monotonous and racially-charged Academy Award monologue in its entire history — it was 10 minutes of nothing but one #OscarsSoWhite joke after another.

Then for the cherry on top, he shouted out “Black lives matter!” at the end.

Rock hit the audience right out of the starting gate.

“Man, I counted at least 15 black people on that montage,” he said. “Hey, well, I’m here at the Academy Awards, otherwise known as the white People’s Choice Awards. You realize if they nominated hosts, I wouldn’t even get this job. Y’all be watching Neil Patrick Harris right now.”

But a lot of his monologue wasn’t at all funny. It was peppered with political opinions fueling the racial divide in America – or more accurately bashing “racist” whites and cops.

“You know, this year, the Oscars, things are going to be a little different. Things are going to be a little different at the Oscars,” he said. “This year, in the in memoriam package, it’s just going to be black people that were shot on their way to the movies. Yes. Yes. I said it. All right?”

Rock did take a mild swipe at Jada Pinkett Smith, the actress who began a boycott of the event with this indulgent rant.

Here’s what he said:

But what happened this year? What happened? People went mad, you know? Spike got mad and Jada went mad and Will and everybody went mad, you know? Like — Jada got mad, Jada says she’s not coming, protesting, I’m like — doesn’t she have a TV show? Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna’s panties. I wasn’t invited. Oh, that’s — it’s not an invitation I would turn down. But I understand, I — I’m not hating. I understand you’re mad. Jada is mad. Her man was not nominated. I get it. I get it. You get mad. Said it’s not fair that Will was this good and doesn’t get nominated. You’re right. It is also not fair that Will was paid $20 million for “Wild Wild West,” okay? Okay?

Oscars’ MOST revealing moment: Watch how crowd treats conservative Stacey Dash, minority outreach director

The #OscarsSoWhite controversy began when, for the second year in a row, the nominating committee, chaired by an African-American woman, didn’t nominate a single black artist in any category. Soon thereafter, people announced they were boycotting the event.

Even President Obama felt the need to weigh in on the so-called controversy.

Eventually the committee caved and promised to become “less male and less white” in their nominations.

So maybe it’s not about talent after all — maybe it’s about diversity.

Underscoring that notion, the crowd cringed when the academy’s first minority outreach director was named and brought onstage: conservative black actress Stacey Dash.

I guess being black doesn’t count if you’re a conservative.

Huh. And I thought the Oscars were all about recognition of talent.

Go figure.

Found this on the net. It’s pretty amusing.

and don’t forget, this same “racist” system has held him back. because of his race, he’s only a multi-millionaire instead of a multi-multi-millionaire!

It doesn’t sell with a black audience. Same with Cosby telling blacks to pull up their pants and get a job. Their so called leaders and the media have produced a fantasy land of denial of reality. They have taken the mantel of professional victims.

Hmm....

What kind of SHTF when a ‘trans Male’ is chosen to be the ‘Actress of the Year’?

That will be next the ‘other’ crowd will say they are not being represented etc etc.

I can’t say I saw C Rock (I have managed to NOT watch the Oscars for some 76 years (at least ‘willingly’) but I would imagine the same people he was ‘dissing’ were paying him?

I used to work for a Black former NFL Player, college Grad, 7 bros & sisters, 1 Father/1 Mother for entire family, raised in a nice home, signed in NFL and played 4 seasons.

He used to try the ‘Ghetto’ role with me but I would laugh at him and point out he had the more stable upbringing, went to college while I was ‘playing Sailor’ (not taking anything away from him, facts are facts and he did work for everything (his father would have had it no other way)).

And the ‘back and forths’ (dozens??) would end when I would ask why HIS children were automatic victims while mine were (supposedly) handed everything -

I will admit that when we were together the people who ‘didn’t know’ would think I was ‘him’ and even had some say ‘I thought this Company was owned by a Black Guy’?

This was back in late 80s-early 90s and we all know things have went downhill from there.

Did all the guilt ridden white liberals dutifully laugh and applaud?

The very definition of PC groupthink...of course they did.

We need to have a racial quota system for Hollywood movies. The casting should have to match the demographic mix for America. If blacks represent 14 percent of the US population, they should be in 14% off all movie roles. I think we should start off with a remake of “Roots” with 80 percent of the roles being filled by whites and Hispanics. Who should they get to play Kunta Kinte? Keanu Reeves or Sean Penn?

If Chris Rock isn’t one of the Hollywood left “threatening” to move to Canada, he should be. (Do they really think that threatening to move to Canada is going to persuade anyone to change his/her vote?)

As I’ve always said, they play someone else for a living; why should I take them seriously about anything?

black people whining about how bad we are because we have a different color skin.

If Hollywood doesn’t go all black from grips to first line star, then the racist policies of Hollywood will continue. Just a good old white boys industry. Hollywood is racist.

Hollywood should just produce all black films this year. No whites allowed. Then next year next year every award can go to a black.

I certainly understand your frustration along with many others. There is some merit to this, even if it is really unlikely to even approach any such drastic action. What could happen is a virtually all black production film. Black producers, black actors, black action.

Then look at the box office receipts....... bye bye.

Meanwhile, Tyler Perry cries all the way to the bank. Think he cares about what the Academy thinks of his movies?

Funny how white liberals in Hollywood go to the Oscars to be insulted by a so-called black “comedian” bigot named Chris Rock. Rock is a piece of work and his audience borders on clinical insanity for putting up with his drivel. He's a way to get Chrissie's mind right — black list him from any new movies.

Somewhere in all the hype is maybe, just maybe, the award nominations were based on merit, not quotas.

You can't tell me that Leo DiCaprio get Best Actor based on merit.

Boy, they sure did go out of their way to show their “white guilt” especially playing Public Enemy’s “Fight the Power” during the closing credits.
