Winning elections helps. Donald Trump has become an even more formidable frontrunner among Republican primary voters in the latest Economist/YouGov Poll, conducted in the weekend following his convincing wins in South Carolina and Nevada. Three in four of those voters now expect that Trump will be their partys nominee this July, an increase of 23 points in the last two weeks.
Trump is the only remaining Republican candidate that a majority of the public believes could win the general election. 63% of all Americans believe he could win in November, including 84% of Republican voters. Fewer Republican primary voters, though still majorities, see Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Texas Senator Ted Cruz as conceivable general election winners. But under half the public overall agrees.
Cruz has also been accused of lying especially by Donald Trump. That criticism also has taken a toll. Less than half of GOP voters now say Cruz is honest and trustworthy, down nine points in the last two weeks. The percentage who describe Cruz as not honest and trustworthy has jumped eleven points in the same period.

What a dog!
Consider the habitual lying and snarky personal attack Cruz supporters have been lobbing at everyone for 6 months, I don’t you going to find many people around here too willing to rush to Cruz’s defense. We like Cruzdog, we can do without his fleas.
Well after Tuesday its pretty much going to be a wrap. The Cruzbots know their guy is done. We need to start focusing on the general election.
You mean the ones that Trump won?
Ironically (or not?) the FR Caucus now shows Trump with 78% and Cruz with 21%.
For some reason, Rubio has zero point zero!
Rove is still debating the “early” call for Ohio 2012
Hey Ted and Marco...
Cruz is a mediocre campaigner.
I don’t see him connecting very well beyond the conservative faithful.
But he’s just getting started.
He’s got 3 or 4 more election cycles before he hits prime POTUS age. Smart guy and he’s learning a lot this time.
He’s only campaigned once, which no doubt has a lot to do with that.
Little Rube just wishing he could hide himself in foam.

The Bell will Toll for the R Establishment by midnite Tuesday. It has been coming for many generations and is well deserved by these frauds and hustlers.
Woo! Hoo! Go Trump!!
Rubio is not running for reelection: he is free to attack and poach other’s votes til the convention. He needs a fat job on Kstreet after the convention. If he trips up DT enough, his base will go mostly to Cruz if he dhould drop out.
DITTO what you said!!! LOLOL
“Trump is the only remaining Republican candidate that a majority of the public believes could win the general election. 63% of all Americans believe he could win in November, including 84% of Republican voters.”
The citizens constantly lead in recognition of change. Politicians-donors, not so much.
84% of republicans believe Trump can win. The other 16% are the party leaders who think the other 84% are a bunch of idiots.
How sick is it that 21 percent support Cruz. Lord they are some very bad people in the Republican Party.
Folks need to recall that Reagan didn’t win the POTUS nomination on his first two tries.
