I worked in manhattan with 50, FIFTY liberals in the graphics dept, one libertarian, and one conservative, me.
no, the boss was an Italian American conservative.
other boss was old English blood conservative.
female boss was INSANE liberal and though Hiroshima was a war crime and her father and FIL were war criminals.

I never backed down, and people would sometimes whisper to me in dark corners that they agreed on some things.
and many MANY told me they respected that I didn’t care about popular opinion.
When I got sick, I was flooded with support, visits, money, gifts, from the lefties.
was too sick to return, but would like to think I changed one mind, at least.
But for years, my Italian self and my Italian boss Owned that department :) made a bundle.

I’m 70 years old, conservative all my adult life, never have voted for a democrat.
I was also a member of a labor union (U.A.W.) for 30 plus years. Always outspoken in my beliefs and never backed down. I’ve had many, many of those same conversations that you’ve had.
