Could hardly believe what I was watching and hearing. Chris makes the patriotic case for Donald Trump in his LET ME FINISH closing segment. "Trump speaks of country" not government!

Of course, Matthews would likely never vote for Trump, but seems to hold a grudging respect for The Donald.

Cruz and Rubes speak with great facility about the government.

I actually watched that last night, amazing when Chris Matthews, who makes no bones about it, he is a classic Labor Union Democrat who worked for Tip O’ Neil, the late speaker of the house from MA back in the Reagan era, is actually this election season, one of the most objective journalist. I think your analysis is dead on, he has a sense of respect for Mr. Trump.

While he will not say it publicly, I think he deep down knows President Obama’s presidency was an empty suit one.

Matthews has told Trump in interviews how “fun” he is and congratulated him on a personal level so they seem very much in sync personality wise but as far as voting I guess that would depend on who the opposition was.

Matthews is a party uber alles guy. Speaking of the “country” is a bad bad thing to Matthews. The libs want you worshipping at the feet of a “kind of a god” like Obama with complete and unquestioned loyalty to the party.

“Cruz and Rubes speak with great facility about the government.”

Mathews raises a good point. Trump = country, Rubio/Cruz = government.

Well, I’ve always trusted Matthews. If he likes him, he must be the right choice.

Why wouldn't he? Matthews has always voted for Democrats.

Trump is going to pay for healthcare with "government money." LOL

I guess that he, like low information voters, do not realize the government has no money- it is from the pockets of the working people.

It's Trump's praise of Planned Parenthood that sold me.

LIV folks don’t realize that government is ALREADY paying for healthcare. It’s called MEDICAID....it’s been in place for YEARS.

Trump will clean up the corrupted with ILLEGALS Medicaid rolls....so we’re actually saving $$, while covering folks who truly need assistance....like our elderly and those who need a hand up, rather than hand out.

Others....who work and want the healthcare of their CHOICE, will have competitive, top shelf options, that they can purchase across state lines. Something that CONSERVATIVES, here on FR, have been begging for, for YEARS.

So, keep posting your FALSE memes. The GOPe/Cheap Labor Express thanks you.

Who else did he work for besides Tip O’Neil. I seem remember by the late 80’s early 90’s, he was the Washington correspondent for the San Francisco Newspaper and regularly appeared on the McLaughlin Group as the Liberal resort to Pat Buchanan. Fred Barnes of the Weekly standard was the other Republican journalist there and you would have Jack Germond (who thought it got to sensationalist and left, not sure he is still around) from the Baltimore paper and Eleanor Clift as regulars as well from the left.

If (Matthews) likes him he must be right

lol

Last night on Fox I was listening to Kirsten Powers praise Trump for his positions on universal health care, Planned Parenthood and entitlements...she saw it as shrewdly reaching beyond the usual (i.e. retarded) conservative base.
