>> Trump will rely on those who aren’t Ivy Leaguers (like himself) <<<

Trump is an Ivy Leaguer. His MBA is from Penn’s Wharton School, and Penn is in the Ivy League.

“And the most likely explanation is that Trump simply misspoke, something that happens more often as we age. But then that wouldn’t provide the Powerline gang from the chance to preen themselves on their intellectual superiority.”

Sadly, most of this culture is used the slick, smarmy lawyer speak, it’s all they’ve heard for decades. No candidate in our history has been pummeled and lied about in a debate by TWO trained court hyenas. Trump is not a debater, the other two have done only that all their lives. Governing isn’t about debate, it’s about management and EXPERIENCE. Rubio can’t handle his $$, and Cruz is just a candidate with no appeal who will never get more than his small base.

The Debate...No, it was an ambush

So what you are saying is you WANT a professional bought and paid for politician running the country??? This is NOT what our founders wanted, they wanted everyday people or business people to run our country and GO HOME!!!!

“Ignorance is doing the same thing that did not work over and over and expecting a different result.”

Actually that is the definition of stupidity.

But then, you Trumpeters believe that electing someone who offers hope and change and has absolutely no experience in politics or governing will somehow bring about a different result than the last two times it was tried ... perhaps, Trumpeters are just jealous that the Democrats did that twice, and now its their turn to show them how it is really done ...

Case in point. Slander and character assassination is all you have.

Probably the same way that he got through Wharton Business School, maybe the best in the country.

You do realize that Trump got his undergraduate degree from Penn and did not attend the more highly rated graduate school program?

Trump doesn't have an MBA. Wharton is Penn's undergraduate business school as well as it's graduate school.

>> the only person who has <<

You mean Trump?

The only GOP contender with the following distinctions?

1. Has bragged in print about seducing married women.

2. Has said he can’t remember ever asking God for forgiveness.

3. Has sold junk bonds to finance unprofitable casinos.

4. Has operated strip clubs.

5. Has operated a fake university.

6. Has been legally sanctioned for hiring illegal aliens.

7. Has had merchandise manufactured in China and Mexico.

8. Has said a POW is not a hero because he was captured.

9. Has said Pres. Bush deliberately lied about Iraq’s WMD’s.

10. Has taken contradictory positions on almost every major policy issue.

11. Has implied that Dr. Carson was equal to a child molester.

12, Has disparaged Justice Scalia.

13. Has lied about Justice Alito’s supporting his sister, Judge Maryanne Trump Barry.

14. Has used the phony excuse of “audits” for not releasing his tax returns.

So yeah, to quote poster Chgogal’s original words,

“It is amusing.”

Very amusing indeed.

I’ve heard it both ways even though the attribution may be correct. Either way it applies to the subject at hand.

Off /s! Haha...good one! ...In many ways I could run rings around the Donald, as would anyone on this forum, based on their own skills and background...so unfortunate that many Trump folks take this all so seriously and personally!

Yeh too bad you couldn’t have been up on the stage with Rubio and Cruz double teaming you. I’m sure you would have been sooooo much cooler under fire. Well actually I’m sure you would have been speechless and crying. LOL!

How many decades has Trump been in business? If he hasn't been double-teamed in contract negotiations, he's really not a businessman. If he can't handle two/three potential presidential candidates in a "debate", heaven forbid his negotiating ability with world leaders at a G-7 conference. Do you really think leaders like Putin would put up with Donald's crap?

>> I think the Apprentice shows answer that question. . . . [Trump] judged people by their performance, not their pedigree.<<

Don't be gullible. Nothing is going to be left to chance on a major network's TV drama productions.

Just like any other prime-time show, The Apprentice was scripted from start to finish. Trump "fired" people basically when the script writers said to do so.

Therefore, actual "performance" would have come into the picture only when it fit the flow of the script's narrative. Anybody who thinks otherwise is simply naive about how the big-time entertainment media must operate in the mad race for ratings.

Now that you say that I looked into it and it’s true, Bachelors of Economics from Wharton School, 1968. Nice trick he plays there.

I think Putin and the Don might come to actual fisticuffs, then down a shot of vodka and become BFFs.

I’m just stating facts. Trump may be rich, but he’s dangerously ignorant. And when you pile extreme narcissism and hubris on top of ignorance, look out.

"He doesn't know anything about policy: I don't know if it's because he's lazy, not interested in policy or just because he's old and has difficulty learning new things, but Trump doesn't know anything more than the most basic facts about any issue. He literally does not understand immigration, healthcare or foreign policy on anything more than the most superficial level. Trump would never hire a guy who doesn't know what he is talking about to run one of his construction sites; so why should Americans hire a guy who's completely ignorant of policy to be President?"

Yes. I wasn’t clear. Trump is an Ivy Leaguer and relies on the ‘best and brightest’. In these times, those experts are the globalist experts with Ivy League mentality.

I’m afraid the rich and powerful simply don’t have the thinking tools to escape the Establishment box, like the Pope has no way of thinking about economics or politics outside of Marxism and Liberation Theology.

Trump “...isn’t really a Christian because he called a Bible verse TWO Corinthians instead of Second Corinthians. I know plenty of people who say it that way...”

No, I am not british. I have always belonged to Southern Baptist Convention churches. I have heard over the years, these books referred to as Two this and One that. It’s not as common, but certainly not unheard of.

I remember when this first happened, I thought how silly. Of course those in the media never even heard it referred to as “Second Corinthians” either since the bible is not a book they know anything about or listen to anyone preach about it. The Godless left telling us why Trump can’t be a Christian, because he mispronounced (which he didn’t) a book of the bible. It just showcases THEIR complete ignorance on these matters.
