Chris Christie Endorses Donald Trump and Calls Marco Rubio âDesperateâ
12:49 pm ET By Maggie Haberman
Updated, 1:54 p.m. | Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey endorsed Donald J. Trump on Friday, a major turn in a wild race and one that gives the New York businessman a significant boost as he heads into the pivotal âSuper Tuesdayâ contests.
Mr. Christie was a candidate for president himself until he came in sixth place in New Hampshireâs primary. Seeing his political career facing an abrupt conclusion after his failed presidential campaign, he expressed his anger Friday at Senator Marco Rubio, whom he was said to be upset with, blaming the âsuper PACâ backing the Florida senator for halting his momentum in New Hampshire with a string of slash-and-burn ads.
The endorsement came a day after Mr. Rubio, in a withering debate performance, turned his guns on Mr. Trump for the first time, and followed up with his attacks on Friday morning, calling Mr. Trump a âcon artist.â
At Fridayâs news conference announcing the endorsement, which was peppered with demeaning insults of Mr. Rubio by the two men, Mr. Christie repeatedly attacked Mr. Rubio, calling his behavior at the debate âdesperateâ and reflective of a âlosing campaign.â

Looks like Rubio and Cruz are trying to tag team against Trump today.
Silly geese.
Don’t they remember that Trump has REAL experience in the WWE ring?
In most comparisons, Trump’s numbers are more then the combined numbers of Rubio and Cruz.
Honk! Honk! {goosespeak}
Star Trek: Space Deed
Biff and Krispy are both libs in sheep’s clothing. And a whole lot of Freepers are too blind to see it.
How many Walls have your fave rock ribbed conservatives from the south built?
They rarely make eye-contact. I dont think that they like or trust each other.
Saw Rubio’s spokesman on CNN a few minutes ago.
He is sort of like Rubio — memorized talkingpoints. He claims Rubio will win Florida, even though Wolfie pointed out Rubio is about 20 points behind Trump.
Desperate is the correct word. Same can be said of the Cruz campaign.

So that is where Baghdad Bob went? I am glad he found a new job.
I don’t think Cruz is a lib, but he is 100% ineffective at being a conservative. Rubio is ineffective at everything.
Theyre really coming unglued.
Trump is a great American.
They’re both after the same prize.
Ugh. FR has had no respect for CC until he endorses Trump? WTHeck?
Exactly. They’re both holding knives beyond their backs.
There’s more to this picture than meets the eye, Miss Onyx. Rubio is looking away from Cruz. While they’re shaking hands?
Now he may be checking to see who is watching, but in dog language, this is a sign of submission.
These 2 are laughable. They’re like high school girls.
“behind their backs” Oy.
A number of posters have made a similar observation. 'Tis the silly season.
Rubio is more than desperate. He is incompetent, a RINO and duplicitous.
