Cruz Exposed Trump's Biggest Weakness in a Race Against Hillary
EIB ^ | February 26, 2016 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 02/26/2016 1:13:51 PM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

RUSH: In terms of substance? I disagree with Chris Wallace. I think there was substance in this debate last night, and depending on what you want -- depending on what you were hoping to see and then what you think going forward -- there's really only one candidate in this debate last night which was chock-full of genuine policy-oriented substance, and that was Cruz. And I happen to know, folks...

I hear from people constantly, as you can imagine, and I hear from you even on the phones. But there have been people during the entirety of this campaign who think that Trump is a pretender, that he really doesn't know much about what all this is about, that he's getting by on the cult of celebrity and other things in our pop culture that people get excited by and attach to. There have been people who say, "We've gotta expose Trump. Trump's gotta be exposed. He doesn't know what he's talking about. He doesn't know conservatism.

"He doesn't know policy. He's just up there saying things that sound good in a populist sense." So what Cruz did last night was essentially expose that. If that's what you think needs and has needed to happen, Cruz did it last night. And probably the best way to illustrate how it happened is, one of the fears that a lot of anti-Trump people have is he's not really even a Republican. And they keep talking about all of his donations to people like Chuck Schumer and the Clintons.

Trump's response was, "Hey, look, you know, I live in New York City and they run the show there, and I'm in business, and there are certain things you have to do to get things done. You have to work with these people. But I'm a Republican." And he's made it clear, and he's tried to make that point over and over again. But Trump found last night Ted Cruz illustrating that. (summarized) "Look, if you think we have to beat Hillary Clinton, Trump's not the guy to do it. Trump cannot go out and hit Hillary Clinton on any of the things that she has done, any of her corruption, because he has contributed to her.

"He has donated. All that would have to happen," Cruz says, "is for Trump to hit Hillary in the debate and Hillary, and all she's gotta do is say, 'Donald, I don't know what your problem is. You donated to me to do this exact thing. So I don't know what your problem is now.'" And Cruz said, "We can't nominate somebody who donated to her." It's akin to the people that said we shouldn't nominate Romney. "If we nominate Romney, there's no way we can get Obama on Obamacare because Romney invented it in Massachusetts.

"Romney gave us Romneycare, and the guy that wrote Romneycare then turned around and wrote Obamacare," and it took Obamacare off the table as far as Romney's concerned. He couldn't hit it because there's a retort, "What do you mean you don't like Obamacare? You wrote its father. You implemented and signed into law its father, Romneycare. What are you?" And Cruz's point was that same set of circumstances with Hillary are going to occur.

Because it can be demonstrated that Trump's donations to the Clintons over the years -- including to the Clinton Crime Family Foundation -- have facilitated political move that Hillary Clinton has made. So the people who have wanted Trump exposed, that was pretty substantively done by Cruz. On the Rubio side, what Rubio did was literally just laugh at Trump all night, literally made fun of him, mock him. Not act frightened or afraid of him, and not be worried about ticking off his supporters, either.

A first for both.

I did not say that Trump was “my guy.” That is an inference on your part. You are the one saying that. What I do say is that Levin has shown no actual originalist constitutional scholarship in examining the question of Senator Cruz’ constitutional eligibility to be President and Limbaugh seems to have followed along with it. This is despite Levin’s excellent constitutional scholarship on many other issues. There is a problem there and ignoring it is not going to make it go away. Oddly, Trump, who makes no claim to be a constitutional scholar and who did, of record, communicate with attorneys on the presidential eligibility question as it affected the fraud now occupying the Oval Office, seems to have more of a realization that the eligibility question is a serious one. I do not know if the one who has the nom de broadcast Savage has an opinion on the issue.

You know if a president has high enough negatives he can be removed from office just for that.
Trump has the highest negatives so he will lose to Hillary (as planned) in November.
BUT if he should become president he will be immediately impeached and removed from office.
The House has the sole power to define what “high crimes and misdemeanors” (that ridiculous comb-over on Trump’s pointy head is a crime in itself) are.
Trump wins by insulting the establishment, the House establishment impeaches him and with his negatives, getting two thirds of the Senate to remove him from office will be a snap.
Crispy Creme Christie knows this and so he knows whoever Duh Donald picks as his Veep may be president REAL soon.

I’m not sure when others said it but I’m not lying here, after I said it on Facebook and FR I here Ted Cruz say similar things. Now I’m not saying he’s listening to me—we may be coming to the same conclusions based on other info in the news, but regardless I did come up with the McCain and Romney comparison on my own.

according to Trump supporters. Saying Rubio would be a better CIC vice Trump means Cruz endorses and embraces amnesty. So I’d think at least they would think giving money to someone to get their policies enacted is even more of an endorsement/embrace of that person and their policies. So to them I wonder when they embraced Hillary’s platform?

I did read it and I don’t believe he is attacking anything. Cruz is the establishment. His resume and life story scream establishment elite. I am just amazed at how well he sells that story. I guess you think that his more or less endorsing Rubio last night was part to his antiestablishment “fight”?

I didn't say you were...I was referring to the fact that one of your statements is one that I have seen multiple times and that I find it odd. You then went on to address eligibility which had nothing to do with my post. My post was about people seemingly not noticing it odd that people they have always disagreed with are for Trump...and those who have always trumpeted conservative principals...but are not for Trump have been attacked here on FR. I find it bizarre.

Emotional irrational decision making.

And you brag about it on a public forum...

Amazing.

Hey, if he turns out to have been lying about the wall and immigration, then I’ll rub it in my own face.

But for now I’m going to laugh in yours, you sad, bitter, whiny losers. HA! HA HA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

There’s a whole lot more involved than a wall and immigration genius. And there’s that thing called the general election before any of the other stuff actually matters.

Keep posting making a permanent record of your brilliance. It will be fun...

No, there’s not, genius. This is the only issue that matters this election.

Because if we don’t get the wall and immigration fixed, then we lose on every single issue down the line as the dems turn the illegals into another generation of gibsmedat voters. Say goodbye to ever getting a conservative in office ever again. But hey, at least you’ll FEEEEEEEEEL good about it while you give the country to the liberals, more babies are butchered, and Christians start getting arrested for being Christian. Because hey, we all know your FEEEEEEEELINGS are the most important thing in the word, and God forbid that you can’t vote for someone who makes you FEEEEEEEEEL like you’re a REAAAAAL conservative.

And Trump is the only one in the race who’s offered a plan to change that, especially after Cruz shanked conservatives in the back with his eager embrace of Mr. Amnesty himself, Go8 Rubio.

Yeah, consistent conservative, eh? Consistently selling the nation to the liberals while you pat yourself on the back for being so consistent.

But hey, whatever. Who am I to judge if you’re fine with selling conservatism and America down the river because of your own smug self-righteousness.

And I continue to laaaaaugh at you and your impotent whiny rage and your sad, sad plans for GREAT INTERNET VENGEANCE.

Ha. Ha. Ha.

U mad, bro?

Oh, so the supreme court doesn’t matter...

Abortion doesn’t matter...

Health care doesn’t matter...

Economics doesn’t matter...

Taxes doesn’t matter...

“Plans” are all words. Plans that change on a dime. A different flavor of big government isn’t going to fix anything.

It doesn’t take courage to cheer on the “winner”. It takes courage to have principles while others are selling theirs.

You don’t get conservatives in office by electing liberals.

Does Trump donating at least $100,000 to the Clinton Foundation matter?

What of the love for Rubio?

In his younger days, Rush would be promoting anti-PC parodies derived from Trump’s rhetoric. But unfortunately those days are long gone — Rush’s soul died a few years ago. It was a sad thing to here.
