Karl Rove believes there is still time for Republicans who don't want Donald Trump to be the 2016 GOP nominee to get behind a candidate - but it's running out.
In an op-ed in The Wall Street Journal out Wednesday night, the former senior adviser to President George W. Bush took stock of Trump's recent string of victories.
-snip-
Before the op-ed was published on Wednesday, Trump was already going after Rove on his favorite medium of attack.
"Big defeat last night in Nevada for Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio. @KarlRove on @FoxNews is working hard to belittle my victory. Rove is sick!" Trump tweeted. "In all of television- the only one who said anything bad about last nights landslide victory-- was dopey @KarlRove. He should be fired!"

Can you imagine the Natural Born Eligibility fight if Cruz and Rubio were trying to decide between first and second place. It would be hilarious!
I think if you watch any popular entertainment you can see the intelligence level of the public at large, hence Trumps soundbite campaign. General public only understands sound bites and cattle prods. Oh, and free stuff too.
Too busy stopping open borders Muslim appeaser Rubio to worry about Trump.
Only for the republican nomination. Rove will have another couple of months to help Hillary try to stop Trump.
It ran out a long time ago, Carl. Your best bet is to grovel before The Don and try to convince him that you were kidding all along.
Well then Cruz is being setup as The Establishment!
Rep. Trent Franks, an Arizona Republican, sent the letter to fellow Republicans Wednesday evening. Heâs asking would-be signers to back his push to rally the establishment around either the Florida or Texas senator in an effort to defeat Donald Trump, the current frontrunner for the GOP nomination.
The letter argues that one candidate should continue on in the presidential race while the other is named a vice presidential candidate.
Either way Go Trump Go!
At some point, the âshiny objectâ that is The Donald will wear thin. - 2025 A.D.
Nope at the Raleigh Rally all things Trump were on $ale by regular folks standing outside and welcoming the 7k of US who made it in and the 1 or 2K who didn’t make it in. And I loved how there were even Black vendors outside greeting US too.

Faux Gnuws.
Time’s been running out for Rove since 1993.
I'm a Cruz guy, but there is no "there" there.
What you are either missing or are trying to block out from your mind is that the vast bulk of Trump supporters are virtually single issue voters. His plans for securing the border and ejecting people who shouldn't be here have been explained.
All other issues aren't even secondary or tertiary to the Trump base. So you won't get anywhere attempting to engage them on any other issues or combination of issues without first having an equally border focused candidate to advance.
That's how it is when attempting to engage single issue voters. To have any hope of dialogue you have to both understand and accept what they are about.
Karl Rove feeling pressure from Fox News now that there are no more ad dollars from Right to Rise coming in to pay his salary.
And if the name was Jeb! or Rubio instead of Trump, Rove would be saying he’s unstoppable, the race is over, etc.

Good one. : )
Great FReeper comments/pics.

My single most important issue is border security, including the 40% VISA overstays which a wall on the Mexican border will not solve. What is Trump’s plan to crack down on the +/- 5 million VISA illegals? I just don’t know. And neither do Trump’s supporters.
He really has come unhinged.
