Well said!

Trump is attacking the key issue of this generation-globalism.

That is why he is feared by the ruling elites of both Parties.

You won’t have to. If Trump doesn’t follow through, *we’ll* be the ones holding his feet to the fire. And we’ll not be nice about it.

If he makes a genuine mistake... well, we’re all human.

But if he backtracks on his biggest campaign promises, there will be hell to pay.

His supporters are with him because we’re pissed. If we turn that anger toward him, he’s got a problem.

oh boy hoo you have been one the nastiest anti-Trump people on FR attacking Trump supporters.

Cruz could have run an honorable campaign and he would have had a shot at VP, he chose not to and the dirt and lies and sleaze brought him down, just like some of his nastiest supporters here.

"associated with the exclusive club of “true conservatives” here".

It's the "Conservative Shaming" that created my animus. Everyone supporting, and associated with Ted Cruz was engaged in it.

It's just another version of "Holier than thou" and the reaction of all people will always be the same.

Orthodox Conservatism was defined in the 50's. It's now being redefined.

Our founders would be pleased, as the new version is closer to how they saw the world. And that world was not:

Free Trade.

Foreign wars.

Open Borders.

Multiculturalism.

Bailouts.

That's the legacy of Conservative Orthodoxy as defined in the 50's.

“If you (not you, EV) think he will reduce the size and intrusiveness of the federal government... if you think he will nominate conservative judges... if you think he is a great businessman and not just an exceptional self promoter and marketer... well... I guess we have our own version of Tourics.”

You’ll REALLY enjoy President Hillary or Bernie then.

Looks like Super Tuesday might be Ted Cruz’s swan song.

Last polls showing Trump has pulled even in Texas and there is still time for that scale to tip completely against Cruz.

I have never bashed Cruz or his supporters who have been loyal to him.

I think South Carolina and the evangelical vote leaving him was the final straw. As much as Cruz’s time in the US Senate has been anti establishment the fact that he holds office period when the mood has been “We want an outsider” didn’t help either.

IMHO Cruz’s mistake was...
* Hiring staffers that pulled tricks then forced to fire them.
* Glen Beck as a spokesman. I used to DVR his show on Fox News. But since he went solo I do not know what happened to the guy. I will not call him crazy. But whatever the issue is, it is pushing support away rather than pulling it in.
* Cruz ran a race for 2012 and not 2016. His deep conservative tone might have worked against someone like Romney. But has proven ineffective against Trump.

I expect Cruz to withdrawal if he loses in Texas, he will get some delegates Tuesday but the writing is on the wall. Then it will be a two man race and Rubio with his youth, Establishment backing and historical record on immigration will do him in two weeks later.

Then we will see how/if Trump can mend fences. I expect him to have the nomination wrapped up by April. Does he pull Rubio in so he can control the Establishment or throw them a bone?

As for Cruz. Truth be told I see him not as a VP but as a very logical selection to the vacant Supreme Court position.

The FR caucus is a documented measure of candidate support of Free Republic members. Since day one, it’s shown that Freepers support Trump over Cruz by a wide margin.

Sorry, but them’s the facts.

“Some people are just seeing what they want to see”

That’s a true statement, as applied to the devout anti-Trump zealots.

No amount of facts, logic, or reason, has penetrated their close minded bias, against a man who is drawing more support from conservative voters than any other candidate.

Cruz could mend with Donald. Donald would be praised for giving Cruz an Ambassadorship. Canada would be a good choice. A coming home so to speak.

“Cruz has all the right enemies.”

Yes, mainly the American voters...across all demographics based on exit polling.

“But if he backtracks on his biggest campaign promises, there will be hell to pay.”

Who do you think knows this better than anyone? That’s right, Trump. Trump has a 30 year track record of getting things done, on budget, and on time. Trump is a doer, not just a talker. And he’s got the accomplishments and trophies (Trump buildings all over the place throughout the world) to prove it. And he has created thousands of jobs, and thus helped build thousands of families in doing so. The proof is in the pudding.

I have to wonder how long the before the Trumpsters start to question their demi-god. 30-60 days?

"But you're supposed to be building a waaaaall. *sniffle* Oh yeah, you're going to have the Mexicans build it. Have they got it done yet??"

"Why are there illegals still in my college taking up seats that American's are supposed be able to sit in??"

"You're the financial guru! Have you got the budget and deficit balanced yet?"

"Have you got the economy roaring yet? I need a job! *whine*"

"Have you wiped out ISIS yet?? Well what are you WAITING for??"

I've found that the Stupid party doesn't only reside at the RNC ...

How they could have thrown an excellent conservative like Ted Cruz for a half conservative like Donald Trump is beyond me.

But I'm pretty sure they'll regret it.

I'll tell you right now how Trump is gonna govern. Exactly the way that Obama govern's. "Stroke of the Pen, Law of the Land!" Executive orders are wonderful things for those with a dictatorial fascist heart beating in their breast.

Trump you see, isn't used to working WITH people. He's used to throwing his weight around. None of this working with Congress for him in his daily life. He's used to waving his hand and signing a directive and it's supposed to get done, Just like Obama. Then he'll call the Congress a bunch of nasty idiots and send his peons off with his directive.

Mark my words!

You’ve got to be kidding. From a Cruz supporter, the same Cruz who is generally reviled by his fellow Senators whom he couldn’t work with, and NONE of whom have endorsed him, none. And you are saying this about Trump, the Art of the Deal? You haven’t a clue what you are talking about. Not even a little clue.

Hmmmm. Seems like this is a line straight out of Trumps mouth. Do you or he have any ACTUAL experience of the Senators and their feelings toward each other or is that just blowin smoke?

How would you know? You don't know a single thing about me. You're arrogant just like Trump or a liberal. If someone disagrees with you they must be stupid.

Nice try.

I’ll admit that I said it after being pummeled by a Cruz supporter. He called me a ‘disgusting b*tch’.

I’m glad that my resolve won’t have to be tested on this one.

My main issue with Cruz is that the man lacked wisdom. He demonstrated that nicely during the filibuster.

Who got hurt? Government contractors - much of them military. The media spun it that the ‘mean ol’ Republicans’ don’t care of these people lose their homes or can feed their families.

Cruz produced nothing but bad press for the Republican brand and mostly hurt the conservative military people.

No wisdom.

He pulled Beck into the limelight. No wisdom.

I chose to not give Cruz my support because I didn’t believe that he would be an effective leader. He’d be a lame-duck president from day one.

He’s the captain who’d honorably go down with the ship... but he’ll drag us down with him.

I want an effective leader on my side. I want a builder of walls, not a president that thinks that *he* is the wall.

“Trump’s mo with vendors is payment of 80%. If you want the rest, then sue.”

If that’s true then how did I just watch a video about Trump’s airplane that showed his maintenance company happy that they did a good job and that he’ll be back? Why would they want more business with such a monster?
