It’s true. Trump backers are taking a calculated risk.
The problem with the Cruzers is they DEMAND that the Trump supporters admit they are compromising their principles. In a purity test sense, yes they are. Yet, the Cruz supporters refuse to acknowledge they are ALSO compromising their principles by supporting Ted. He’s not the conservative he claims to be and there is ample documented evidence.
Trump is not being supported because he ticks off all the conservative boxes. He is being supported because he doesn’t quiver. He has a spine. And he is going to make America great again.
And if, by chance, he doesn’t make America great, then the election doesn’t really matter because no one else running would have done it either.
This Trump supporter would carry that mantle of shame...all the way to DC to burn it to the ground.
I never once bashed a Cruz supporter on FR. But, I have advocated for Trump from very early on, and bashed the hell out of Cruz.
I have never understood why both Trump and Cruz supporters would take candidate bashing PERSONALLY.

I never said I wouldn’t vote for Cruz, and I don’t recall seeing any Trump folks say that.
I may have gotten angry and said it a couple of times, but I was sure pushed a long time before doing it. I don’t recall if I actually did say it or not.
At any rate, I felt that even though Trump was a cad on issues, he didn’t try to mislead me. He came straight at me, didn’t deny anything and told me exactly what he wanted to do.

FreeRepublic was lost a long time ago. When I joined, this was an amazing place. Well informed and fascinating posts. Over time, I noticed a lot of those people left and what is left is, well, you know. I have noticed more and more uninformed posters, etc.
No, not as much. Sessions has been acting all buddy buddy with Trump, not Cruz. He's been basking in the media adulation of Trump.
Alabama conservatives could have had a conservative to vote for. Now what? Hard to believe a great State such as Alabama is left with nothing but NYC paid for sleazy lying democrats to “choose” from.

Oh cut the drama. Try Hillary or Bernie for President if you want to know real pain and suffering. Especially on the heels of the almost 8 years of Obama we’ve just suffered through. More years of a Dem President and you won’t have a COUNTRY to suffer through.
You should be so lucky as to deserve a President Trump. You aren’t worthy of his sacrifice to even take the job with the likes of you yapping at his heels. He’s not even going to take a salary because he wants to fix our country. This isn’t even a job for him, it’s a duty to save our Country. Sheesh, some people in this country just aren’t worth saving. Problem is I don’t want to find “another” home.....this is the only one I’ve known. I believed this was the best Conservative site on the internet and lurked for a long time even when I didn’t have my own computer....I needed to be on the best place for the best people and news discussions......and I was right to choose this site....it proved itself time and time again. And the people here would chase down “the truth” because it mattered...and that was always exciting.....even when people screwed up others weren’t nasty about it...we were all open for correction and nobody took it to heart otherwise.
But somethings have changed and it’s just not that as it has been.....I miss Free Republic.
Did you notice that today (Wednesday) Romney publicly said that since Trump has not released his tax returns, there must be a bombshell he does not want exposed.
I thought that was stunning. If you recall, Romney made a mess of his campaign by not releasing his tax returns and when he finally did, the damage was done.
A comment like this from Romney is not his style, at all. It is obvious that someone in the GOP asked him to do this. This is the first hit from the establishment and then they will hit again and again.
Then in May, the lawsuit against Trump University goes to trial. The press will rip Trump to shreds. They made him and they will take him down, too. Not to mention, that apparently, Trump's mo with vendors is payment of 80%. If you want the rest, then sue. National Review wrote last December that commercials were already made and ready to go with this information voiced by the people stiffed by Trump. They were not certain when they were going to go on the air. For some reason, at least one candidate has held his fire, but the dems sure won't.
I admit, i lack the blind faith support of Trump that some people have. I suppose I am just skeptical by nature, so sue me.
