Yes. I felt sorry for the robot too, even though I knew I shouldn’t have.

Isn’t that strange though? In reality all he did is push something equal to a toaster, but because it displayed human characteristics we felt sympathy. That is some scary stuff because I assume as the decades move on they will create robots more and more human like until it will be impossible to tell the difference, and they advance fast don’t they. I look at video games today, they could pass for real life videos when only 20 years ago Pac man seemed to be the height of computer video technology. So imagine 20 years from now, you are at a party, the guest offers you a drink and you are saying hello to everyone and this gorgeous woman comes up and says hello, and you get to talking and you ask her “What do you do for a living” and she tells you “Oh I’m sorry, I’m an artificial person. I was only created 2 days ago”. This where we are heading.

It’s form is a mimic of the human form, so attribute human emotion to it?

Actually in a different context, a series of human like forms were introduced to a test group, seeking social reactions. What they found was a tolerance for the mimicry, as long as it was obviously flawed, thus easily perceived as a fake. A ‘too-perfect’ presentation which appeared human but gave ‘wrong’ body language cues, came across as deception, and provoked great hostility once perceived as a prop.

Then you have the robot groupies that want to cuddle and protect a ‘Fur-by’

I was reading something the other day talking about some the issues folks have with cgi. It seems that when the cgi is somewhat lifelike, people will feel sympathy for the characters, however as it gets really close to being real , but not quite there we actually have the opposite reactions. One thing that is still not quite there with computer animation are faces. Faces are the first thing we learn to recognise as infants, and if it is just slightly off, people will reject the simulation. Same goes for body movements. I'm sure you have notices how even in really good cgi, movement doesnt look natural. It tends to be too smooth , and so is not quite like normal human motion. I think in this case, because the robot was human-like, but obviously robotic, it evoked that sympathy response. The psychology of this stuff is actually fairly interesting IMO.

“Who’s calling Uber for a ride, the robot?”

People. Passengers.

You asked who was going to buy cars. In the future, more and more people will rely on services like Uber for transportation. Cars will be self-driving. This will drive down the cost to use ride-sharing services and make it cheaper than owning for a lot of people.

Companies like Uber will buy lots of cars. (Right now they don’t own the cars used for their service. The driver’s do.)

The solution is to become one of the elites. If I were not so old, it’s what I would do.

But that is assuming a Godless world. God has different plans. The rise of robotics is one of the proofs we are in the last days. The VERY last days.

It is one of many. It’s obviously a perfect storm brewing, as discussed in so much old and new testament Bible prophesy. The most important thing is, are you His.

Well they assemble cars and other complicated products.

They're programmed. Robots are a long way from being able to react to the infinite number of situations that humans encounter.

Robots will never be able to think as humans, since thinking is essentially a spiritual activity. Something as simple as identifying a yellow object as a banana is an incredibly complicated task for a machine to imitate without writing a specific program to, let's say, pick up a banana from a conveyor belt and place it into a box.

You and I think alike. For starters, we’ve both used the “Perfect storm” analogy. It’s all coming together on virtually every human existence plane- technology, spiritual, cultural, political and even natural.

something is afoot. Something bigger than us.

Oh, regarding one of those planes:

After work pong. Sober now that 24 is done?

Not worried about a robot replacing me. I run four Fanuc robots on PMS, and I’m the only one that can handle them on second shift.

Does every body get put on welfare or does the elite start culling the masses to free up resources so that they can live in unprecedented luxury?

The globalists are quite open about their plan to reduce humanity to 500 million. Agenda 21 isn't some secret plot. It's right out there for everybody to see. It just doesn't dawn on most folks that it means getting rid of them, and getting rid of them soon.
